The power of the Green Lantern!!!...kinda. Ideas?

Hello GitP forums!
I come to you all once again, this time asking the beautiful hivemind for creative ideas on a new item my character received.

It is a ring that, as an action, can summon (afterwards move/make immovable/dismiss) any object/shape of my choosing into a 5ft cube.
Parameters:
object can only have 1" through 5' dimensions (no microfilament wire traps)
object can weigh 0-80 lbs
cannot have moving parts
cannot intersect solid matter
weight limit of 8000 lbs when immobile, 80 lbs while moving/"free"
gives off light in a 20' radius
can form cutting edges, but enemies aren't going to just run into a floating sword

So those are the rules for the item. Other than things like a ladder, ramp, a cage, a pole, and small simple tools, what are some interesting/useful things I could do with it? I like to think I am fairly creative, but no where near the awesome power of the forum go-ers! Give me your best!

hmm you could make...
portable cover (instant wall)
makeshift armor (at least a shield)
drop 80 lb. rocks on people. (great if you are flying)

A bed of nails to mimic caltrops? An emergency backup weapon? A key? If it cam mimic an immovable rod by its second ability it may be exceptionally powerful.

Dig a pit trap and cover it with this - dismiss when an enemy is over the top.
