Tome of Battle gives us not only the swordsage class, but a variant that sacrifices the swordsage's light armour proficiency for the monk's unarmed strike progression. Could a swordsage then take monastic training and tashalatora to count levels in a psionic class toward their unarmed strike progression?

No, not by RAW. The feats reference the monk class, and swordsage levels are not monk levels.

It should be noted, since you are considering their use, that Unarmed Swordsages retain the Light Armor Proficiency feat(only losing the class feature) as well as requiring light armor for their Wis bonus to AC. This makes it a different feature from the Moon Warded Ranger class feature(light armor or less) letting you stack them.

Like a lot of things about the Unarmed Swordsage, this has to be approved by the DM.

There's no RAW for this because there's no fleshed out RAW for Unarmed Swordsage sufficient to make this call. Imho, it -should- work, but that's RAI at best.
