275: Don't taunt the god-killing abomination.

One of the Top Ten lines in OotS.

I vote for

273

Maybe not the best of Crayons, but first, very surprising and climatic.

Growing more complex...
Growing more intelligent...

Growing more hateful.

273, just for the awesomeness of the first Crayons of time installment!

This was where I almost got bored from the comic....so 271 by default.

274 for me - just for the first panel

I also like 273.

274. "It's my turn, my choice, I say: NINJA!'
'...Fine.'

Fighteer

I'll make a break and say 272. The whole "we can't defend ourselves without something to defend against" is classic Law & Order style courtroom drama, and while I love the Crayons of Time, it's hard to rate them against the main body of strips.

Damastes

274
"My turn ninjas"
and "Twenty seven minuts after..."

Not one of the high points of the comic and the winner will be an also ran in the next round, but I'll vote for 273

Tough decision, but I'll say 271.

I vote 275 as well. Love that "Don't taunt the god killing abomination." line.

And looky, my first post in the playground ever!

273. I don't really have a reason, I just liked it... Sorry.

Froody

274, because the first panel is awesome.

Hawkeye

Comic 275. No question :D

This particular run is more exposition and fewer jokes, so I'm going with 273, based upon the pure novelty of the "Crayons of Time," and Elan and Roy's exchange at the outset.

:elan: Psst! Do you think this story will take a while? I have to use the bathroom!
:roy: I'm pretty sure you should have thought of that when he began with "At the Dawn of Time".
:elan: Awwww, man!

Black of Night

275: Don't taunt the god-killing abomination.

One of the Top Ten lines in OotS.

My thoughts exactly.

Caw!

By which I mean 271

Curse you, treacherous avian!

And why isn't there a :blackwing: smily?

The Plot cometh!
273 for me. Amazing art, and I love the last panel. Also: "Hey! Who's the wizened old man dispensing valuable plot points here?"

I was going to vote for 274, and then you reminded me of this hilarious line that Roy says. So I'll go for 273.

274 Hands down

AlisdairM

I'm going with 271. A Banjo appearance just about edges out the deicidal maniac, despite being one of my top 10 quotes! A single panel does not a winning strip make.

271

It's more funny then the history lessons.

275, in my opinion, it was simply the best constructed and the funniest of the 5.

Hmmmm...

I'm somewhat torn between choices. I'm thinking 272, because I like lawyerage.

274

The majority of these strips are plot driven, as opposed to comedy. And while this is a comic, any strip without a solid background for it to be based upon will soon fall flat. 274 shows us why The Snarl is such a gigantic threat to everything, having already defeated an entire pantheon of gods and ripping apart the world. That, and the line with Monkey creating ninjas is pretty funny too.

275, partly for 'don't taunt the god-killing abomination' but mostly for the introduction of Soon.

kukn
2007-07-07, 09:54 AM
Not an easy choice, but I'm going for:

272.

RAGE KING!
2007-07-07, 07:12 PM
#1 #THE ENTIRE COMIC IS GREAT! #1 JUS' SETS UP THE REST, WITHOUT #1 THERE WOULDNT EVEN BE A COMIC! W00T #1!

or #473

275.

"God killing abomination" quote is great and it is interesting to briefly see what Soon was like before Mijung got whacked and also to see her get whacked. Such a tragic panel...

AngryRussian16
2007-07-08, 06:26 PM
274 because of the god slaying and the ninja quote

Pyro
2007-07-08, 08:23 PM
273 because of the first crayon drawings in this comic EVER

Dusk_Rider
2007-07-09, 12:25 PM
Hm, tough choice. I'm gonna have to go with 271.

:vaarsuvius: "Curse you, treacherous avian!"
