The “Gritty Realism” resting variant provided in the Dungeon Master’s Guide is a subtle tweak that has a huge impact on play. Today we explore mitigating that impact a bit to create a middle ground that affects all classes a bit more evenly. Idle Talents, special abilities that can only be used during rests, also provide a new avenue for adding even more character and customization to the game.

Interesting, if I were to use the Gritty Realism variant this appears to be a solid improvement.
