Most effects of Turn Undead wear off after 10 rounds. If an evil cleric (or necromancer, or ___) commands an undead using Rebuke Undead, does the command wear off, or does the undead just get added to his HD-based pool of controlled undead?

I assume the latter, since otherwise a player is totally dependent on Animate Dead for minions, but SRD RAW is silent.

"At any one time, the cleric may command any number of undead whose total Hit Dice do not exceed his level" Just find the section in the srd on turn undead and scroll down.

A commanded creature is under the mental control of the rebuking creature. The controller must take a standard action to give mental orders to a commanded creature. At any one time, the controller can command any number of creatures whose combined Hit Dice don’t exceed his level. The controller can voluntarily relinquish power over any commanded creatures to command new ones. Otherwise, the commanded state is permanent.

Bolded for emphasis.

Thank you!

(not sure if my players will remember they have that option, but that's on them).
