Spells
Twincasters cast spells just like a wizard does, except that they may also cast cleric and druid spells, but they never gain the ability to cast any spell higher than second level. They may, however, use the power of twincasting with their higher-level spell slots, as detailed below, or use them to cast metamagic-altered spells as normal.

Twincast Initiate
At fifth level, instead of learning third-level spells, the twincaster learns the power of twincasting. This allows the twincaster to prepare multiple low-level spells in a single spell slot. These spells' total effective levels (after alteration due to metamagic, for example) cannot be greater than the level of the spell slot - for example, empowered burning hands could be prepared twice, but only in a sixth-level or higher level spell slot.

The twincaster may then cast all of these spells siultaneously, choosing the same or different targets, areas or effects as desired. For example, three summon monster I spells could be cast to summon different creatures in different places, or five magic missile spells and two scorching ray spells could have all twenty-five missiles and six rays split up or used on the same target or targets as the twincaster desired.

The spells don't even need to have a similar area, range, target or effect, so a twincaster can use shocking grasp and grease at the same time as summon nature's ally II. The spells resolve in any order, so a twincaster may choose to place a hail of stone such that the twincaster will be harmed by it, use cure moderate wounds to cure the resultant injuries, and then use invisibility without the spell being broken by the attack. Each spell may be cast at a different caster level, so long as it is a high enough caster level to cast that spell.

Cantrips do not count as half a level, or indeed any levels at all, but only one may be added per level of the spell slot. A ninth-level spell slot could hold four second-level, one first-level and nine zero-level spells all at once, for example.

As much as I enjoy all of your work, Jorm, this just goes further for me. I love the concept for all sorts of reasons, of which one is "Cast ALL the Magic Missiles!" I will definitely be looking for a chance to play this with my group in the future.

Kudos on another great 30 minute class.

Aside from it taking longer to decide what you're preparing than it took to make the class, I really like this concept. He's a powerhouse, he's versatile, and best of all, fresh.

It's interesting to wonder if this class would be stronger with a Sorcerer spell progression and spontaneous casting. Spontaneous casting is a much bigger deal when your spells are entangled like this, but then again it's hard to guess how many spells such a character would get to know.

I think my favorite thing is the goofyness of adding N Acid Splashes/Launch Bolts/whatever to each spell. It's actually sort of significant; 1d3/2 character levels is more than half of a Warlock's Eldritch Blast.

Scorching Ray is obviously a huge deal, as are the lesser orbs and even Magic Missile (Force Missile Mage!) Stapling True Casting or True Strike to spells in the fashion Sorcerers do with Fusions becomes the norm, and a lot of really efficient movement spells that are poo-pooed for action economy like Dimension Hop and Benign Transposition become pretty cool. And Snake's Swiftness (Mass)! That's like a thing all by itself, for a 9th level slot you can make the beatstick swing 9 times! You could even stick a Slide, Greater in there to move him in between swings! Or be a gish (somehow...) and use Whirling Blade! The more I think about this class and its opportunities to investigate edge spells the cooler it is.

This should really be named the Omnicaster. Since obviously when he casts more than two spells it's no longer Twin Casting.

GG class is unplayable until the name change.
