This came up a couple times in my campaign (Pathfinder rules). The question is, in which direction does the enlarged person grow in on a grid? This is important because it could put them in or out of reach/flanking, ect. Looking online, the forums said that you decide which way they grow. I'm wondering who exactly is it that chooses, the spell caster or the person being enlarged? This became important when the cleric enlarged the enemy spellcaster so that she was easier to hit. Can the cleric enlarge her closer to his allies, or does the enemy get to choose to enlarge away from them?

I would say it would be the spellcaster, since they're the one who's actually doing it.

But by all means someone more knowledgeable please step in.

I would assume the spellcaster chooses, as they generally determine the effects of their spells unless specified otherwise.
