The other day I was watching OutsideXBox videos, and I came upon their video on Skylanders Imaginators (https://www.google.com/search?q=skylanders+imaginators&oq=skylander&aqs=chrome.2.0j69i57j0l4.6974j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8), the latest game in a kids' video game series whose major distinction has been their figurines. What makes this new game different is that, rather than collecting characters, kids can now collect crystals with elemental alignments and design their own characters with a sizable collection of parts. I started having flashbacks to my not-so-distant childhood, and one particular idea I had for what amounted to this very game type, but for a more DND style world, and now I have to know: did Activision/Toys For Bob really invent something new, or does this already exist somewhere? What genre do you classify this as?
