View Full Version : Pathfinder Making a False Prophet or Lucifer type vs a vision questing Lizardman

Specifically in this case, I'm thinking about something like an evil Aasimar that capitalizes on their heritage and other people's assumptions about Aasimar to corrupt religious teachings and cultural values towards Evil. Encouraging going beyond stern justice and into excessive cruelty over time, and other things reminiscent of how Paladins fall gradually, subtly instead of when they randomly decide to just start out by eating puppies.

I'm really out of my element as far as whether any of that is possible or if there's any classes, archetypes, racial features(or even other, similar races), or feats that would further that, especially *without* making the character utter garbage at surviving in a fight.

I'm already dreading taking on a healing role as a probable divine caster that is Evil as it is.

This is for a Way of the Wicked game, by the by.

Competing with this idea of being the poison working on the inside of the society, my other idea that I ran with after it seemed like there was still no way to buff your undead minions as a bard without playing 3.P, which everyone I know refuses to do, is for a complete outsider of a Lizardman(?) shamanistic type that's basically come here on a drug-fueled vision quest to restore some holy site of Asmodeus that their tribe worships as the Serpent of Law.

I'm toying with Warpriest or Shaman for that one, since I don't really see any way to do an Oradin build with this alignment. My main issue is really trying to figure out what to do with the natural weapons to either incorporate them into the build or fighting style or ignore them unless disarmed.

Stats either way are pretty good, I think. Rocking an 8, 11, 15, 16, 17, and 18 for my first set of rolls(we're not doing them rolled in order like the player's guide says, too).

Either way, I'm going to need to be able to heal enough to help keep myself, an unchained rogue, a frontline fighter type (maybe a barb?), and either a gunslinger or slayer or swashbuckler or something along those lines alive, and there's going to be some difficulties with the Rogue's damage output until 3rd level.

An evangelist archetype cleric gets bardic performance which might help persuade people, and which would certainly be useful to buff the three goons you have on hand. And yourself if you get into the fight in person, of course.

Nagaji are a snake-people race if you're looking for one.

Options worth looking into are Zealot (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/vigilante/archetypes/vigilante-archetypes---paizo-inc/zealot) Vigilante (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/vigilante), Cult Leader (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/occult-adventures/occult-classes/mesmerist/archetypes/paizo-llc---mesmerist-archetypes/cult-master-mesmerist-archetype) Mesmerist (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/occult-adventures/occult-classes/mesmerist), False Priest (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/sorcerer/archetypes/paizo---sorcerer-archetypes/razmiran-priest) Sorcerer (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/sorcerer), or Hidden Priest (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/cleric/archetypes/paizo---cleric-archetypes/hidden-priest) Cleric (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/cleric) (if your GM's willing to let you use its abilities to disguise your true patron deity as another, more culturally accepted patron). The last one of those would be the best for someone who tries to turn people towards service of some evil deity or another.

It's worth noting that Pathfinder's Asmodeus has no connection to snakes, so you'll want to run this by your DM - maybe they'll incorporate serpents into his portfolio, but you might need to make the Serpent of Law a regional variation on worship of Asmodeus.

If you want Asmodeus to have a snake theme, a Shaman with a snake for their spirit animal would be a nice fit. Your bite and claws can be your always-ready weapon for when you accidentally end up in melee.

That's two melee characters plus likely one more, so support- and/or buff-focused Shaman would probably be a good choice.

What sort of buffing and support were you thinking of a Shaman providing? Beyond life link and channeling energy for out of combat healing and sometimes in combat healing, I can't really figure out what's worthwhile and what's basically a trap with their hexes. The Shaman spell list seemed kinda underwhelming in terms of buffs, from the last time I looked at it within the past year. I'm going to check again, but were there some gems you were thinking of?

Looks like it's an unchained rogue, a gunslinger, and an antipaladin at present for my allies. Two are looking to grab Leadership, one to form an order of assassins, I believe, and I don't know what with the other.

Serpent of Law is definitely a regionalism if I go with that angle.

Evangelist Cleric and those other archetypes are a nice idea, especially since I doubt any of our cohorts would be Bards anyway. Thank you.

Looks like Unsworn Lizardman Shaman it is for now, going to grab Spirit Talker and an Animal Ally if I don't see a better way to grab an AC and then using that one Lore Spirit Hex to prep a changing set of wizard spells.

Will keep looking into the others for a backup EVIL Aasimar, though, thank you.
