quick question of restrictive class for multi-class

i have a question.

Classes like samurai, paladin etc that say you can multi-class but cant go more lvl in those classes. but keep the abilities. does that mean they keep the code of honor like the paladin must not make an evil act etc. also does prestige class count as multi-class for this purpose?

also does prestige class count as multi-class for this purpose? As evidenced by the several prestige classes that note things like "A paladin who takes this class can continue advancing as a paladin", yes.
