I thought it might be fun for us to list the different universes from books, tv shows, and games, that it might be fun to see homebrew material for, either adaptations of whole settings or just individual monsters, schools of magic, or items.

Examples:

The Torchlight setting, with its engineers, zombie dwarves, buddhist elves, ember and alchemists.

The Monster Blood Tattoo series, with its combat chemists, monster princes, organic technology, and calendar societies (hybrid girls school, charity, and monster hunting society)

The Dark Crystal series, with its gelflings, bizarre animal life, giant underground people, and fascinating astronomic system.

EDIT:

Sadly, seems I've gotten a few views but no other suggestions for settings people find interesting for eventual Homebrews.

I thought of a couple others though...

The world of Ogriss from Goblin Commander, it's got 5 moons and a goblin breed for each of them, giant slugs with legs, and more.

The Child of Light setting would be fascinating to explore, with burly Kategida, the near extinct Pisceans, humans filling an almost feylike roll, and mercantile mouselike Bolmus, among others.
