So recently I was assigned as the group DM (we take turns) and soon we are going to continue a old 3.5 campaign, the thing is that I would like to design an adventure of my own and for it I need to design a dungeon, is there any program I can use for designing it in my computer? I use a windows 8.0

Pencil and paper? Or MS Paint? :P

Does your group expect big colorful maps for dungeons, or just a verbal description? I tend to draw myself a rough outline and a couple of lines of descriptive text per room, and let them make their own map from what they discover.

There are some dungeon generators you could find online, but other than that, pen and paper seem like the best choice.

Map tools my friend - it has hex or square grids, paint tools with layering features and snap to grid options. You can add line of sight tools and lighting conditions. When you're ready to play you can turn images from the Internet into tokens and set their size, facing, hp, you name it. I've been using it for years
