A Soul of Legend is a living construct, a steel avatar of the soul of a fallen hero of legendary times. The Soul of Legend merely serves as a channel for the spirit, using incarnum to allow the soul to take manifest itself within the construct. Each Soul of Legend is unique, depending on the hero animating it. Although the one above is fairly typical, depending on the hero animating it, it might have different feats, have different soulmelds shaped, or use different weaponry. Regardless of the exact weapon used, most Souls of Legends use magic weaponry with no more than a +3 total of enhancement bonus and special abilities. Once a heroic soul has bound itself to a Soul of Legend, it remains bound within it until the Soul of Legend is destroyed, but few regret the opportunity to venture out into the world of the living once more. Souls of Legend vary greatly in appearance, but most appear as animate suits of full-plate, which glow from within with a brilliant blue light.

Heroes’ Last Stand (Su)
Once per week, a Soul of Legend may revive its fallen allies to finish the fight. As a full-round action, it may return to life all fallen allies within 60 ft. of it, as long as that ally died no more than 5 rounds ago. All risen allies are revived, as the true resurrection spell, until the end of the encounter, at which time their souls leave their bodies and they return to their death.

Legendary Warrior (Ex)
A Soul of Legend’s base attack bonus is always equal to its HD. In addition, it is proficient with all weapons, even exotic weapons.

Meldshaping (Su)
A Soul of Legend can shape up to 3 soulmelds from the Soulborn class list, with a meldshaper level of 12th. Each has an essentia capacity of 3. The Soul of Legend above has the bluesteel bracers, crystal helm, and thunderstep boots soulmelds shaped.

Spell-Like Abilities
At will–detect incarnum; 1/day–soul boon. Caster level 6th.

Chakra Binds (Su)
A Soul of Legend has access to the crown, feat, and hands chakras, and may bind a single soulmeld to a chakra at a time. The Soul of Legend above has bound its thunderstep boots to its feet chakra.

Essentia Pool (Su)
A Soul of Legend has an essentia pool of 6. The Soul of Legend above has 2 points of essentia invested in its crystal helm, 2point of essentia invested in its bluesteel bracers, 1 point of essentia invested in its thunderstep boots, and 1 point of essentia invested in its cobalt power feat.

Soulforged Armor (Ex and Su)
The body of a Soul of Legend is plated with a layer of adamantine, which grants it a +8 armor bonus to AC. It is treated as being in heavy armor. It takes a -5 penalty on all skills to which an armor check penalty applies, and has a maximum Dexterity bonus to AC of 1. If it can cast arcane spells, then it does so with a 35% arcane spell failure chance. Its speed, however, is unaffected by its armored plating. A Soul of Legend cannot wear other armor over its soulforged armor. In addition, a Soul of Legend can enhance its armor by investing essentia in it, as the greater soulbound magic ability. However, a Soul of Legend cannot bind his soulforged armor to a chakra.

Creating a Soul of Legend
Creating a Soul of Legend is different than creating most constructs. Like with other constructs, the creator must construct the physical body of the construct, and then perform the magical rituals that animate it. However, once a Soul of Legend is animated, a heroic soul must still choose to bind to it before it is completed. The time it takes for a soul to bind to the construct, as well as the exact nature, personality, and alignment of the heroic soul, are up to the DM. Once a heroic soul binds to the Soul of Legend, it is fully animated. However, it is not bound to obey its creator–it is fully free-willed and independant. However, if the Soul of Legend is animated by a heroic spirit whose alignment is similar to that of its creator, it is likely to be very grateful to the creator, and at least adventure or serve alongside him for a while.

The body of a Soul of Legend is made from a 200 pounds of steel, as well as crystals of solidified incarnum, worth a total of 5,000 gp. Assembling the body requires a DC 20 Craft (Armorsmithing or Weaponsmithing) check.
