Hi Everyone, i have a question. i'm currently playing a Lv1 CG human inspired blade swashbuckler. my stats are str 13, dex 16, con 16, int 18, wis 11, cha 16, the feats i have so far are weapon focus (rapier), weapon finesse (rapier), fencing grace, and two weapon fighting (which i'm going to retrain to combat reflexes) but then what? i'm not sure which feats to take. most other forums i've check are just debates on whether to take fencing grace or slashing grace and offer no real list of feats to take. is there a good build for inspired blade? i feel feats i heard are worth taking are Steadfast Personality and/or iron will to boost my weak saves and surprisingly eldritch heritage, though i don't know which bloodline would benefit me. but i would like to hear about builds you guys and gals would suggest.

edit: also no third party stuff is allowed.

Well, you're among the lucky few Swashbucklers who qualify for Power Attack, so I recommend picking that up at some point. Osyluth Guile (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/osyluth-guile-combat) is really good for taking on single opponents. Animal Ally (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/general-feats/animal-ally) could be fun. Combat Reflexes would give you more parry/riposte chances. Signature Deed (Dizzying Defense) could be useful as a 15th-level feat. Dazzling Display as a feat tax for Shatter Defenses (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/shatter-defenses-combat---final) would be appreciated by any sneak attackers in the party.

This guide (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1S6mCgF8JFOOepuB4v6yEsAZRNAqZ2H5i6RO-AqeEP_8/edit) is useful for Swashbucklers in general, and here's (http://www.pathfindercommunity.net/tyler-s-pathfinder-guides/magic-in-the-blood-a-guide-to-eldritch-heritage-and-sorcerer-bloodlines) a guide to the Sorcerer bloodlines (for Eldritch Heritage).

Shatter Defenses only works for your own attacks, not your allies'

Anyway, take Lunge, Weapon Trick (one handed), Combat Reflexes, Improved Critical, and Possessed Hand. These are top priority imho.

Osyluth Guile is *not* good because you cannot afford a -4 to hit. Nope. It becomes good tho if you dip in Unarmed Fighter and take Crane Riposte, you can take it without meeting requirements.
Now your penalty is only -1 and you can fight defensively all day long, with Osyluth Guile on top of it.

do you mean critical focus? because swashbucklers get improved critical for free at lv5
I've never seen weapon trick before, they add some nice things but aren't anything amazing, though the ability to get a free AoO against an opponent when they miss by 5 points is a pretty nice 1/day ability, (though the wording seems to stat that you could use it more then once, just that you can only use it once per foe)

what is Possessed hand? i can't seem to find it anywhere?

Sorry, about that. I'm playing a character with a single level dip in Inspired Blade so I forgot.
Critical Focus and Bleeding Critical is a solid option.

It's 1 per day per foe, it's great for wiping out mooks. Just go in the middle of melee, this is the basic plan:
the opponent begins a full attack, you use Opportune Parry and Riposte.
The first attack is negated and you attack instead.
The opponent has now iteratives, just do nothing, you're supposed to have good AC. You WILL be missed by 5 or more. Riposte again, this time with weapon trick.
Now, this feat is the reason you want a Fortuitous weapon, because now the AoOs become 2

New feat in Haunted heroes handbook, +1 to hit and damage with a one handed weapon

too bad Fortuitous only would work for the weapon trick, it doesn't work by RAW for parry&riposte.

might have to hold off on this for the time being. i don't own this book.

The step up line of feats is good, and if you can make Str 13 power attack is always good, and it gets you into cut/smash from the air.

0_o i never seen cut/smash from the air before, it seems really flavorful.

They're pretty good, but unless your GM is beneficent and let's you count Swashbuckler Weapon Training as Weapon Training, you will need to get Martial Focus (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/martial-focus-combat) as a tax.

oh...i think swashbucklers weapon training would work.....but inspired blade rapier training might not. which is silly, its just weapon training specific to one weapon and so is cut from the air.:smallconfused:

edit: wow it does work! http://paizo.com/paizo/faq/v5748nruor1fm#v5748eaic9qto archetypes

Well, no, not quite. That FAQ is specifically talking about archetypes, and hybrid classes are not archetypes.

And Swashbuckler's "Swashbuckler Weapon Training" is not Fighter's "Weapon Training" they have a thematic, but not a mechanical link, so unfortunately there isn't a RAW connection.

But RAW, is in places, pretty silly.
