Combining the Lich and the Mind Flayer stats to make an Alhoon.

As the title suggests, is this the easiest way to go about this? Just take the attacks, defenses, and abilities of the Mind Flayer and add them to the Lich stat block? Would there be any tweaks that you would make to this idea? I'm curious. Thank you for any input :)

5e is basically tweak the way you want, so I would give the Lich the traits and attacks from the Mind Flayer that doesn't overlap and ajust the attack bonus and DCs from the new attacks based on the new ability scores.
