AL tying into main campaigns

How do the adventure league quest fit into the quest released? is each a prequel adventure of the respective campaign?

Generally, you want to think of them as parallel adventures happening around the same time, but in different locales.

Season 1 and 2 were centered around Phlan and Mulmaster respectively, and while the cults causing the problems in each of the hardbacks were represented as antagonists for some of the adventures, you never fought the big bads of either hardcover.

Season 3 Expeditions dealt with the machinations of a Demon Lord that wasn't represented in OotA, Season 4 Expeditions (or whatever they're called now) also took place in Barovia, but never had you deal with Strahd.

SO they are side adventure's. Not sure if i am going to sue them now or not.
