Wild Cohort for a Follower?

Is there a feat which would give you a follower at first level, the way Wild Cohort gives an animal companion?

I'm open to anything from 3.5 or Pathfinder. I'm trying to provide minions to a low-level caster and can't find an option for it.

It would be a little weird(and obviously an infinite loop) for a 1st level feat to grant a 1st level follower. However Squire is a 3rd level Pathfinder feat that grants a 1st level cohort/follower.
