The campaign I'm DMing now involves an early epic warlord with acute paranoia.(he's been born with a gift of visions - they were a great help in levelling up, but now that the noose of intrigue is closing tight around him, he has seen far too many of his own deaths)

He's not a caster himself, but has a wizard cohort and enough means to turn his throne room into a fortress within a fortress. Now, what do you think I should give him?

Warding the throne room and his chamber against scrying and teleportation is a must.

So is a ring of sustenance (no eating, as little sleep as possible) periapt of proof against poison, and a plate armor of fortification (with a restful crystal, so he can sleep in it), and a weapon of warning.

What else do you think he should have?

Well if he just wants to be as safe as possible, he should get a ring of sustenance, hop off to a private demiplane, and hide inside a permanent Forcecube.

What things will he need to be able to do while maintaining his safety? The amount of mobility and agency he wants will have a definite effect on what's possible.

Do you know the plot of Baldur's Gate 2?

He should be ruling the city - but the city is now under siege, and he is becoming increasingly aware that not only has the city become a trap for his whole faction, but that the faction itself had been formed specifically so they could be gathered up and killed all at once.

Since the person responsible for the scheme was his mentor, the visions have made him go full Denethor - he's holed up in the inner keep, using his guards against the desperate citizens, and keeping the city's highest level characters as his personal bodyguard, denying his side key resources. He's expecting assassins any moment, he can already see their shadows approaching... and his behaviour isn't exactly making him a popular ruler.
