If you cast the spell enlarge/reduce to make a halfling larger. If that halfling has a greatsword when they get larger. Are they not attacking with disadvantage and still get 1d4 add damage dice from weapon.

Yep. In other words, they start doing just as much damage as a medium enlarged creature. Not more, which would indicate some kind of problem.

The disadvantage part would be up to the DM. After all, the weapon enlarges with them. It was too big for them to use before, so...

That's what I was afraid of so I thought of keeping a great sword or axe what even one she want. Then after casting enlarge on her give her the weapon.

More on topic, you could always drop the sword, enlarge, then pick it up again.
