I'm making a report to demonstrate some programming, and I'm considering saying something like "Thank you to the community of Giant in the Playground forums (www.giantitp.com/forums) for your advice on dice probabilities, the R language, and Dungeons & Dragons rules" alongside citations from D&D PHBs. I may well not, since I don't really like the idea of something figuring out my username here (though probably nobody would go to that trouble) and it might be too unprofessional to reference a webcomic forum (though, given geekiness in the field, it might be fine.)

But, I wanted to check if such was okay to do, or if y'all would prefer I not.

(This is a report as a final project for a graduate class, creating a set of utility programs for D&D in R, and not something formally published. It's possible the professor might want to use it as an example for future classes, if I do well enough, but that's about the extent it would be publicized.)

That seems fine to me. Glad folks here were able to help.
