Hiya all,

What things does this awesome-looking show feature which be a problem for kids of varying ages? Reviews aren't terribly specific, and the rating of TV-MA covers a lot of ground.

Within Forum rules, please be specific!

Sex, violence and language. The sex is for the most part confined to the 1st episode, though there are some quick one or two second flashbacks to that scene in latter episodes. The language is more PG-13 than R in nature. The violence is throughout.

It takes place in fictional Harlem, the N word is used. Though not in an overly gratuitous manner. That's be my guess. A lot of the violence is Luke getting shot at and him tossing people or cuffing them basically.

The violence overall isn't bad, but there's some particular moments that definitely stand out as shocking and graphic, particularly one shot in the first episode of a goon's hand breaking--complete with protruding bone--when he tries to punch Luke. Profanity and other 'bad language' is pervasive, particularly the 'n-word'--but that one primarily (but not entirely) in the context of hip-hop/street culture's reclaiming of the word. Luke protests the usage of the word by black or white, and generally makes an effort to moderate his language. The opening episode also features a casual sex scene which, while far from explicit, is probably more than would be shown on most network television. Sexual abuse and infidelities are also backstory plot points.
