So usually play mundanes, most magical i've been was a level 5 alchemist.
Magic scares and confuses me. So now i'm making a high level magus, and am not not sure how to go about it.
should i be looking at metamagic feats? spending money buying material components? What should i be aware of or avoid?

As a first step, I recommend reading a guide (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?423754-Myrrh-Frankincense-and-Steel-Kurald-Galain-s-Guide-to-the-Magus) on the Magus class. It will give you a lot of pointers how to go about things.
What will "high level" be? 10? 15? 20? Are you going to start at that level or will you start at lower level and expect to reach the higher levels later?
The only metamagic feat really recommended for a magus is Intensified Spell (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/metamagic-feats/intensified-spell-metamagic), optimally combined with Spell Perfection (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/general-feats/spell-perfection), Metamagic Master (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/traits/regional-traits/metamagic-master), or Magical Lineage (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/traits/magic-traits/magical-lineage) to get more use out of Shocking Grasp (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/s/shocking-grasp) at higher levels. If you do not want to worry about material components, just take Eschew Materials (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/general-feats/eschew-materials---final).

20th level, starting there. It's only going to be a one of session as far as i'm aware, so not thinking long game.
I've been using This (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?423754-Myrrh-Frankincense-and-Steel-Kurald-Galain-s-Guide-to-the-Magus) guide, and have the majority of the character down. Mostly looking at spells, Arcana and equipment now.

Using the Bladebound archetype as well, so if anyone has any advice on how to actually play that, that would be great.
