There are many similar monsters in D&D, e.g. Sahuagin and Kuo Toa. Which is cooler of the two?

What about

Lizardfolk or troglodytes?
Remorhaz or frostworms?
Mimics or phasms?
Shambling mounds or tendriculouses (tendriculi?)
Merfolk or tritons?

I'd say:
Sauagin
Lizardfolk
Remorhaz
Phasms
Shambling Mounds
and Merfolk because the name reminds me of Murlocs

Sahuagin, 'cause Kuo Toa are lame.

Lizardfolk, by definition.

Remorhaz, 'cause it sounds cool. A frostworm sounds like an inchworm from Commander Keen.

Mimics, 'cause what on earth is a phasm?

Tendriclosowossnames, 'cause they don't shamble.

Tritons, 'cause they're basically upgraded merfolk.

Lizardfolk... actually, they're exactly as cool as Troglodytes.
Remorhazes (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/MM35_gallery/MM35_PG111.jpg) are way cooler than Frost Worms (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/MM35_gallery/MM35_PG111.jpg). I mean, just look at them!
Mimics... eh. Same with Phasms.
Tendriculoses (tendriculi?) are like mega-Shambling Mounds, so of course they're cooler...
Tritons (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/MM35_gallery/MM35_PG246a.jpg) just are not cool at all, in any way. In comparison, Merfolk (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/MM35_gallery/MM35_PG185.jpg) clearly win.

Seems like most folk agree with me:

Sahuagin, lizardfolk, remorhaz, mimic, merfolk FTW!

Shambling mounds vs tendriculous is a close call for me....

I say
Kua-Toa > Sahuagin (Though the picture in MM sucks)
Lizardfolk > Troglodytes (Obviously.)
Remorhaz > Frostworm (Because Remorhaz is the original ice-maggot-thing)
Mimic > Phasm (Phasm-Phlegm? Anyone notice the similarities?)
Shambling Mound > Tendriculous (...Not that plants have much oppurtunity for coolness)
Triton > Merfolk (Because they don't have fishtails)
