I am creating a new Warlock character and am curious what the playground thinks about Multiclassing options for a Warlock. I see a lot of discussion about dipping into Warlock, but not much for the opposite. I am leaning towards control spells with EB as the default attack option. Here is what I would do for Warlock 20:

Half-Elf
Warlock 20 (Great Old One)

Str
8

Dex
14

Con
14

Int
12

Wis
12

Chr
17

Ability Score Increases - Save DC is important in the build to maxing out Charisma ASAP:

Level
ASI/Feat

4
+2 Charisma

8
+1 Charisma, +1 Con

12
Alert

16
Resilient (Con)

19
Spell Sniper/Warcaster?

Alternatively, I could go with Variant Human and pick up the Actor feat to compliment the at-will shape changing.

I am trying to decide where a good break point would be. Sorcerer would be the best class to go into, I am just not sure how far to dip. Any tips?

With a few exceptions, usually involving several multiclasses or supporting specific concepts; I see three real 'break points' for warlocks: 2 (for agonizing blast); 3 (for a pet or basic book); or 11 (for 3x rechargeable spell slots)

I'd rather Con15 and Cha16, it simplifies your ASI choices.

Warlock 11 for the 3 slots.
Fighter 1 for defensive style and AC20 with shield, because Dex14 can only get you AC15.
Rogue 1 for some expertise, AT 3 for more spell slots.
Sorcerer 5 to twin those concentration spells.

I would aim for warlock 12 / draconic 5, and fill the remaining 3 levels based on needs.
