Bs/ barb?

Was thinking of a melee wizard that would have high as and defenses by going 1 barb Con save d12 first level and high ac
I was using point buy as elf for
Str 13
Dex 17
Con 14
Int 16
Wis 8
Cha 8
Level int then dex
This should give me a decent ac good Hp 2 attacks with 9th level spells and the asi
Does the blade singer need to duel wield? Or what else would I use the bonus action for?
I originally was thinking at would be Mage armour 13+ dex +con( barb) + int
But don't think Mage armour stacks anymore even tho technically I'm not wearing armour.. It's a magical effect

Unarmored Defense is only worth it if your Con (or Wis, in the case of Monk) is 16/18+
If not, you're better off with another martial class with better lvl1 features and either studded or mage armor.

That's generally considered the best.
One level gets you everything you need, and none of the features are counterintuitive (like rage and casting). A second level offers even more.
But Ranger isn't bad at all.
Neither is Rogue.
Neither is Cleric.
Neither is Paladin if you can work out the stats.
It's just that Unarmored Defense is mediocre for you, and rage is almost worthless, making Barbarian a less than optimal choice unless you're building for fluff.
