I just completed it for the first time! Hooray!

To be honest though, I was a little disapointed with the end cut-scene...

When she offers you to join her and you just go "No" in a really kinda nerdy voice and shoot the screen shes being displayed on. Considering how cool just about every other sound-byte in the game was I was a bit miffed. Would I be correct in thinking that Bio-Shock follows on from System Shock 2, story-wise?

Yeah, the cutscene is kinda sad. Although SHODAN's facial expression is priceless. If only because it's the first time between the two games that she realizes she's not the one in control.

And Bioshock is often called the "spiritual descendent" of System Shock, but I don't think the two are actually related to each other in-game.

The problem is, EA still owns the rights to System Shock, so they couldn't make a direct sequel. Thus, a new storyline, but with a similar feel to it.

I've had some fun times playing co-op with people, the game goes a lot faster when you don't have to handle everything personally.
