View Full Version : What Voices do you think OOTS have?

I was thinking about voices for the characters and thought of these:

:roy: Wesley Snipes, Matt Damon, the Rock
:haley: Anne Hathaway, Jewel Saite, Rene O'Conner
:durkon: Billy Connelly
:belkar: Robert Carlye, Hugh Jackman, Ben Stiller, Adam Baldwin
:vaarsuvius: Paul Reubens, Jason Biggs
:elan: Greg Kinnear, Alan Tudyk

Thoughts?

I dunno, I kinda get :belkar: as more of a Dane Cook...

...Hugh Jackman?

Oh and :haley: is totally Katheryn Zeta Jones.

:durkon:is Jaime from Mythbusters. But less snarky. and with an accent.

Shojo could only be voiced by Shaun Connery, simply because he's an awsome actor.

:xykon: Either Hugh Laurie or Dylan Moran from Black Books (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Books).

:redcloak: Either Rowan Atkinson or Bill Bailey, also from Black Books.

:belkar: Dane Cook or Seth Mcfarlane
:xykon: Patrick Stewart ( but acting like Bullock from American dad)
:vaarsuvius: Billy West ( as Prof. Farnsworth from Futurama)
:roy: Sam L Jackson
:durkon: Sean Connery
:elan: Kevin Smith or Funny Ben Afleck or johnny Depp
:haley: Jessica Alba or Jessica Biel
:nale: matt Damon cuz whenever Affleck is in a movie Damon has to be in it 2
:sabine: Hale Berry
:thog: John Dimaggio
:mitd: NO IDEA WHO!
:redcloak: no clue

also :roy: Matt Damon what!!!!

I always heard :belkar: as Trey Parker doing Cartman.

I think :vaarsuvius: should be someone more sophisticated, but it's hard to find someone who sounds gender-neutral, or at least elvish. Maybe Tara Strong doing her Raven voice or something similarly contralto.

It would almost be possible to do OOTS using entirely Teen Titan voices:
:roy: = Cyborg (Khary Payton)
:haley: = Starfire (Hynden Walch)
:belkar: = Beast Boy (Greg Cipes)
:vaarsuvius: = Raven (Tara Strong)
:elan: = Robin (Scott Menville) - just the voice, not the attitude!
... but I can't think of a good :durkon:

I really only do Team Evil.

The Current Team Evil:

-I've always heard Xykon as John Cleese.
-Redcloak would need to be played by Simon Pegg
-Robin Williams would make a very good MiTD
-Tsukiko, is a tough one. The main girl from the game Evergrace. Don't know the voice actor.
-The Demon Roaches... hmmm... maybe Jim Carrey

Not counting the random hobgoblins and undead

I originally that of CZJ too, but thought that Haley had more of a girlie-girl side. CZJ is all woman.

I also think that Sam Jackson is too badass for Roy.

Belker = Wolverine = Hugh Jackman. But actually I think Bruce Campbell as ash would do a great voice for Belkar.

Actually, Elan and Nale would have to be the same voice, in order for Nale's plot to frame Elan to work, and so that this event (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0336.html) would make sense.

I also disagree with the rather popular choice of Samuel L. Jackson for :roy:. It has to be someone more intelligent-sounding and less "ghetto"-y, to play into Roy's reluctance of being stereotyped as the "dumb fighter". Jackson works better, as a reckless, "loose-cannon" type action hero, not so much the LG, careful (most of the time) Roy. Will Smith could pull it off.

As for the rest, it's hard to imagine voices. Vaarsuvius in particular is a real tricky one. What actor or actress is capable of bringing out a sufficiently sexually ambiguous voice to vocally portray the androgynous elven manipulator of reality?

EDIT: Ooh! Ooh! James Earl Jones for the Monster in the Dark! Don't tell me it's not the most perfect voice match ever!

As the thread says title says Voices, so I'm going to say voices, not actors

:durkon: Scottish, natrually.
:xykon: British, with an echo.
:elan: Quite a girly voice, for this joke http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0088.html to work.
:vaarsuvius: Alternating between a girl and boy.
:haley: Quite a girly voice.
:thog: Thog is a 'done' voice, while smiling.
:miko: Asian, as with all the people of the south.
:sabine: Seductive all the time.
:mitd: Deep.
:roy: Gruff, with a friendly tone.
:nale: Same as Elan.
:roach: High and squeaky, like hampsters on helium.
:redcloak: Also British, but without the echo.
:belkar: A quick voice, like Quagmire off of Family Guy.

I went back and checked all 9 pages before creating this thread.

I also thought of Paul Bettany, was that becaus of his portrayal of Chaucer? He stole every scene in that movie.

You are also dead on with Mark Hamil. His Joker voice is awesome.

:durkon: Billy Connolly
:xykon: Not cultured British, Xykon's too brash and erratic.
I'd go with Will Arnett (Gob in Arested Development)

I've done these like 11238789172 times but oh well.

:roy: Samuel L. Jackson. Period. He wins every male leading dark skinned male lead ever.

:haley: Amanda Bynes. Honestly, I don't like Bynes at all, but I think she fits the personality.

:durkon: Sean Connery. I don't know anyone with a better accent than he.

:elan: Ashton Kutcher. He's got the silly part down.

:vaarsuvius: Mark Hamil. He does enough voice overs as it is, so I know he can do it.

:belkar: Danny DeVito. See Goldmember. Psycho midget? His part.

Time for Team Evil (smilies at least):

:xykon: George Carlin. I just hear his voice. I don't know why.

:redcloak: Simon Pegg. I dunno it fits for me.

:mitd: Will Ferrell. Same thing with Carlin. The voice just hits me.

Linear Guild:

:nale: Ashton Kutcher. I think he can do both twins justice.

:sabine: Halle Berry. I don't see a Succubus shapeshifting into anyone else on this Earth.

:thog: Microsoft Sam/???? I really don't know who could do the stupid guy better than a computer generated voice.

Elan and Nale would easily be played by Cary Elwes.

Haley: Famke Janssen

Roy: Will Smith

Durkon: Sean Connery

Belkar: Elijah Wood. So many great jokes could be made with that.

V: I really have no idea. Whoever was Ra, in Stargate, could play him (at least in looks) I guess.

Hinjo: Sean Bean.

:belkar: Danny DeVito. See Goldmember. Psycho midget? His part.

Goldmember? As in Austin Powers? Wasn't DeVito only in that role for about 10 seconds? Although I do think Verne Troyer would work.

For :xykon:, I have to put Jon Stewart in the running. Last year, I got stuck going to see the movie Doogal(which I really don't recommend watching, at all), and Stewart voices the evil wizard in that, and the attitude is extremely similar to Xykon's.
