Spell less Ranger?

Has anyone given it a whirl? Is it fun to play? Also included if it was a low magic campaign or not

Its a good class, coupled with the revised ranger... pretty powerful.

But you still lack the extra attacks of the fighter, but horde breaker gives an extra attack and the maneuvers are nice.

You are still getting archetypes, just no spells and maneuvers and some potion stuff instead, and type of conjure animal.

We never got to play it or the favored soul. But I am playing a revised ranger and I plan to grab some battlemaster, very similar.

It's good, but worse than the Ranger. Notice that they gave effects similar to protection from poison and conjure animals, but 4 levels late each. That's a lot of waiting, especially since you could get more spells than those.
