Class Weapon Group Proficiencies at 1st Level
Add Weapon Group (any) to the fighter's list of bonus feats.

Barbarian Basic weapons, plus any other three
Bard Basic weapons, plus any other two
Cleric Basic weapons, plus any other two
Druid Basic weapons, plus either druid weapons or spears
Fighter Basic weapons, plus any other four
Monk Basic weapons, plus any other one
Paladin Basic weapons, plus any other three
Ranger Basic weapons, plus any other three
Rogue Basic weapons, plus any other two
Sorcerer Basic weapons, plus either spears or crossbows
Wizard Basic weapons or crossbows

Where/how would you fit Incarnate, Soulborn, Totemist, Warblade, Crusader, and Swordsage into the weapon group system?

Hmmn. Hard one that. I would say Basic Weapons + two others for War Blade, but even that wouldn't be an accurate representation.

[Edit]
Actually, maybe Heavy and Light Blades + Basic Weapons.

We just you use the base classes that are the most similar to non-core classes:

Warblade same as fighter

Swordsage as Ranger

Crusader as paladin

etc.

It would depend, the basic funtion of the 3 classes is to fight, I mean, they are made solely to fight? Not as the Ranger that has another hole in the party, but made solely to strike and be stroke?

If the answer is Yes, give them the same options as you would to the Fighter, with one exception only if they are specialists in a especif group of weapons, like swords and the likes, etc.

Think mostly like this and it should suffice.

For martial adepts, I'd go with Basic plus any three non-ranged groups. They are all martial classes, which points to Basic plus three, like the other martial classes (other than fighter), but their base proficiencies in the standard rules are restricted to melee weapons.

Incarnate and Totemist are proficient with all simple weapons, just like clerics and bards. So go with Basic plus two.

Soulborn is proficient with all martial, without the "weapons expert" of the fighter. So, like paladins, rangers, and barbarians, go with Basic plus three.

Good call there Shhalahr. I would be tempted to make it Basic +2 (since other Martial Classes get more Weapon Proficiencies than War Blade), but you're probably right.

I would consider making a new weapon group for each discipline, matching the favored weapons of said discipline; and making martial adepts choose from those groups for their class proficiencies.

Like that. Right along the lines of the Druid and Monk weapon groups.

Yea, I second that one. but you probably should allow them to get proficiency in a few more weapon groups then. Or perhaps they gain the group of any discipline they have strikes of?

Yep, that is a good idea.

Took the words right out of my head. It'd be great to have weapon groups related to the different disciplines.
