I've been thinking a lot about this since i, years ago, started reading the comic if is it possible to create the prestige class Dashing Swordsman ingame on D&D 3.5.

Just as a form of paying tribute to this awesome comic and because references:smallbiggrin:

For example, is it possible to use something like this? http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Dashing_Swordsman_(3.5e_Prestige_Class)

Then no, there's no way to play a homebrew class without using homebrew.

Honorable Dread Pirate has (among other things) Diplomacy bonuses, a morale-boosting ability which gets better if you also have Inspire Courage, and a 1/day reroll-anything ability. Overall not a bad fit, especially since at 10th level your exploits are legendary by RAW. It requires owning a ship worth at least 10,000 GP, but the Mechane most likely meets that prerequisite.

X to Y (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?125732-3-x-X-stat-to-Y-bonus) helps you get the same effect with official sources. The Arcane Duelist seems fitting, if mechanically 'meh' or questionable.

Pathfinder has a dashing swordsman PrC by a third party, with an adaptation of Tome of Battle mechanics. I do not have a link, but try searching for Dreamscarred Press April Augmented.

One of my wonderful Junior Tormlets put together the "Dashing Hero Handbook (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?397668-The-Dashing-Hero-Handbook-Use-Your-Overwhelming-Personality-As-A-Weapon)". You might find that useful.

I think any class from d&d wiki needs to be okayed with your DM on a class by class basis :)

I was thinking about this class the other day, and the peculiarity that Elan can "run out of" quips struck me as odd. I wonder if it's a per-encounter or per-day thing (as that one homebrew above puts it), or if it's somehow tied to uses of his bardic music.

I always read it as meaning that he's out of jokes to tell, and can't think of any more in the moment.
