Warlock Arcane Focus question

Simple question, if I were to choose a crystal or an orb as my arcane focus can I hang it on a chain and wear it like an amulet? And if I would cast a spell I'd only grasp the crystal or orb hanging on my neck. That's my idea anyway. Is it legal by RAW? I Am still using one hand to hold the focus after all.

RAW doesn't really say how or where you should store your foci. In my table I'd say go for it. There's nothing wrong in being creative. Stepping into your character's shoes and figuring out a creative way to carry an unweildy item should be rewarded somehow.

Using a focus should take up the use of one hand, just as a material component does, but aside from that you can knock yourself out; grasping an amulet that's around your neck, rattling a fetish adorned staff, holding aloft your crystal ball, waving your wand or whatever.

"Presenting" a holy symbol for turning undead should require something a bit more involved, IMO. Actually holding it forth rather than just grabbing it, but for arcane foci I think you're good however you fluff it.
