Alchemy System

Below is a rough Alchemy system I for my party, who instead of buying their potions wanted to make them instead. I have made a few of my own plants and potions as well just for the fun of it. I tried to make the total price of the components in the potions cost less then buying the potion outright so that there is more incentive to make the potion. The potions will be made with the Alchemy kit in game. Any tips or references to other Alchemy systems would be helpful, along with other D&D plant ideas. Sorry for formatting.


Potion Formulas:

Potion of Healing -100g
2 Waterpebble flower + 1 pint water + white ashes + moth wings + [boil over fire for 2 hours] = 1 Potion of Healing

Potion of Greater Healing - 190g
3 Waterpebble flowers + 1 pint water + 2 white ashes + caterpillar cocoon + jade dust + [boil over fire for 2 hours] = 1 Potion of Greater Healing

Anthosa Tea - 250g
4 Anthosa leaves + salt + milk + 2 pints of water + 2 honeycomb + bluebeard moss + [boil for 1 hour] = 1 cup of Anthosa Tea (+3 to all non-damage rolls for the next hour) & 1 Dried Anthosa Leaf (+1 to all non-damage rolls for 1 minute)

Bone Rot - 120g
3 Rotten bones + 2 pint of water + 2 black ash + clay + [3 minutes in fire] = 1 vial of Bone Rot (Add to weapon; +1d4 necrotic damage)

Ghoul Blood - 50g
Ghoul's Bread + bluebeard moss + [cook for 2 hours] = 1 use of Ghoul Blood dust (+5 to magic damage and attack rolls for 2 minutes; -25 health)

Bloodcurl's Bite - 240g
3 Bloodcurl leaves + coal + 2 crushed amber + 2 yew leaves + black ash + [cook for 3 hours] = 1 Bloodcurl's Bite (Add to weapon; +1d6 fire damage)

Bloodcurl's Embrace - 90g
1 Bloodcurl root + 2 glowworm + white ashes + 2 salt + powdered rhubarb leaf + [cook for 2 hours] = 1 Bloodcurl's Embrace (Fire resistance)

Potion of Animal Friendship - 130g
Hummingbird tongue + 2 fish scales + live spider + 2 cat claw + 2 powdered bour tusk + [boil for 2 hours] = 1 Potion of Animal Friendship

Potion of Fire Breath - 155g
2 Bloodcurl root + 2 phosphorus + 2 powdered rhubarb leaf + black ashes + holly berry + [1 hour over fire] = 1 Potion of Fire Breath

Potion of Growth - 160g
2 ogre eye + crushed amber + 2 caterpillar cocoon + drop of blood of user + [2 hour cooking] = 1 Potion of Growth

Hey Bookwormav, this looks quite nice. Might be worth for you to hunt down the ongoing work that Ninja_Prawn has been doing on this, however - I think their 'Alchemists' Cookbook' is still in the works
