Church of Shadows

[Osnagard]

Somewhere in a dark ally of Town is a giant stone cathedral covered in permanent shadow. The gargoyles are smileing wickedly, and the towers reach into the sky. Welcome to the Church of Shadow, where the Lord of shadow is worshiped, along with his minnions, the queen of Shadow, the Patron Saint of Assasins, the Hounds of Shadow, and the jesters of trickery and deceit. Upon entering there is a grand entryway poorly lit with a large fountain spewing forth a strange black liquid. There are several doorways attached to this hall, the largest of which leads to the worship halls, where statues of the Gods are kept. Another leads to the library, and the rest lead to the various sections of the cathedral, including storage rooms, kitchens, and living quarters.

There are several NPC accolites milling around, willing to "ease your suffering" if you are injured, take you under the dark wing of shadow if you wish to join the church, and generally help you out. There is also Annita, the head caretaker of the Church, unfortunatly she is mute from her exposure to the black liquid in the fountain.

Rumor has it that a High preistess is soon to come to the church, and take control of this flock.

[Lord Magtok]

Magtok materializes somewhere around the entrance to the church and wanders around aimlessly, not certain if he should go in. He appears to be mumbling something to himself. The phrases "Mom always said I'd go to hell if I didn't...", "they'll probably reject me just like everyone else", and "It's too late anyways. My soul is already doomed. No priest can save me now" are all that anyone that may be in earshot can hear.

[Narmoth]

Ted the demonic presence enters and looks around. He has the form of a transparent, large horned and spiked demon, but tries to not act threatening, trying to listen to so many conversations as possible.

[Dark Demon Lord]

Rozar walks in muttering.

"Pain and suffering, never heard the likes." He sits down and lowers his head.

[Xaspian]

((Ooo... nice place. Pelgof will probably want to pay a visit, to compare it with all the other shadow cults he's been in.))

[Osnagard]

A small dark figure runs in from the streets and dissapears into a hallway, then into a room, locking the door behind itself.

Annita walks towards Magtok, motioning that he is welcome to come inside. If he does, she will give him the grand tour, leaving him in the worshiping hall, to find the statue he best relates with.

Ted is also welcomed in a similar manner, though several accolites are with him. It should be noted that these accolites are all holding staves, though not in a threatening manner.

Rozar, seeming more at ease, is left to his prayer and not inturupted untill he approaches someone.

[Lord Magtok]

Magtok follows her, and then when they get to the worshipping hall, he finds himself gazing at the Lord of Shadows statue, as he glumly wonders which of the nine hells he's already been sentnced to.

[Osnagard]

Annita smiles at Magtok pats him on the back, then makes to leave. Belatedly remembering something she walks back over and hands him a peice of parchment with the words


Church Of Shadow
All kinds are welcome to become paritioners, though free worship is of course acceptable. When our new High Preistess has arrived there will be a test, judging the worthy.

[Lord Magtok]

Magtok reads over the paper, and stares at the shadow lord's statue.

So...you think you can save my soul, huh? Good luck with that. I've heard enough about you gods and the afterlifes that have been crafted to know I'm going to some Abyss or layer of Hell or something.
Meh, even if you can't do anything, at least I'll have something to do while I wait for the TDI to kill me.

[Dark Demon Lord]

Rozar starts pacing the church impatiently.

"If only it would come back. If only i could seize that moment."

[Nightwing]

*Robert shadecloak walks in and starts praying to the good of shadows*

[Dark Demon Lord]

Rozar walks up to Robert and whispers quietly to him.

"Don't tell them what i did. It is a secret. I'm afraid if you mention it to anyone, i'll have no choice but to kill you." He suddenly stood bolt upright. "Kill...sorry sir, i must have got a bit carried away with myself. Good day."

He runs out.

[Osnagard]

Annita walks over to Robert and sees if he is in need of anything, she also hands him a peice of parchemt saying,

*Robert reads it and continues praying*

Annita smiles and puts a stack of these notes to be takes by anyone entering the church.

[Nightwing]

*A ray of black energy hits Robert and throws him into a wall*

[Osnagard]

The various members of the Church ignore this, strange things often happen, and this is an accepted fact.

((Nightwing, I'm cool with whatever that was so long as none of the Gods of this church caused it))

[Lord Magtok]

Magtok suddenly teleports away.

[Nightwing]

((it was not them. Another, very miner shadow god got mad at him and throw him into the wall))

[Osnagard]

The Small figure walks out of the room and into the main chamber. It is now completely covered by a large cloak and shadows the seem, well, unnatural.

[Nightwing]

*Robert walks up to Annita*

A miner shadow god is in the church. He has taken over some one in the churches body.

[Osnagard]

There is a rushing of wind, which grows into a growl, which then a howl. Whichever random person was posesed should suddenly feel as though they are being ripped apart.

[Nightwing]

*A man screams in pain*

"You wont defeat me!"

*He fires a blast of shadow. Robert sticks his arm out to block and it ripes the skin of his arm*

[Osnagard]

The Hounds of Shadow don't seem particularly bothered by a blast of Shadow.
They kill the man and destroy the presence within him, dissapating again when they are done.

Annita looks at Robert in a way that clearly asks "Need anything more?" dispite her inability to speak.

[Nightwing]

*Robert leaves*

[Osnagard]

After a lenghty absense the hooded and cloaked figure walks out of the cathedrial and into the streets.

[Osnagard]

In the darkness of a private chamber a small figure dons another cloak, becoming once again hidden from watchful eyes.

The Preist walks out into the main chamber and makes certain the church is running smoothly. After a few moments leaving for the streets.

[The Neoclassic]

Lia Ann, red-headed, young, and naive as usual, wanders in. She seems mildly interested in her surroundings, but not particularly frightened or intimidated.

[blackout]

((Psst. Little secret. You pass between threads using the streets, and you can use a little something called deadtime to have your characters stop being used without being attacked/having to leave anytime. :smallbiggrin: ))

[Vhaidara]

(Pssssh, blackout, very few people post the Streets transition. Deadtime is assumed after 15 minutes of being offline/ not posting anywhere.)

[Osnagard]

Upon entering the church the preist turns to look for Tiben, also taking note of EXACTLY how he's walking.

Tiben enters the church, walking exactly like the preist, and stops inches away from him
what do we do now? he wispers

The preist looks around and sees Anita (the NPC)

You will be helping Anita here, in distributing this potion. But only to the severly wounded, those that look like they won't make it. AND DON'T DRINK ANY YOURSELF. Good footwork by the way. I especially liked the sprained ankle look.

he looks at the potion and then....falls over with deadtime

[Osnagard]

The Preist walks around for a while, talking to the NPC's, teaching the acolites, and generally being annoying.

And with that! I'm off to the tavern? One wonders why a godly one such as me spends so much time in a cesspol thus. Ah! Right! Saving the masses!

A poof of balck smoke and preist is no longer in the cathedrial.

[Tiben]

Tiben undeadtimes, dons a aciolite's robe, gets some of the potion from Anita
then heads for Trog's

*out of the shadows an figure appears and heads for the high priest*
High Priest, The Achi has been found!
It must be found and controlled by us at once, I will go for it now!

Annita takes note of this, but will insist that the figure come back at a more appropriate time, or look in the tavern. All this without speaking of course.

[Osnagard]

Sorry appears and runs into a back room, behind the closed door of a private living chamber.

[Pandaren]

Ten shadow elementals(medium sized) appear in the chamberSorry's chamber. They are not hostile. They mill around aimlessly.

[Osnagard]

((In sorry's chamber?))

The will see Sorry, laying on a bed, asleep... or trying to fall asleep.

She's just a little girl afterall, this has been an ordeal for her.

In any case, hasn't noticed them yet.

[Pandaren]

((Errrrr, yes))

The shadow keep floating around the room, if noticed they stop moving and turn towards her.

[Osnagard]

Sorry will roll over, obviously unable to sleep, and see one. Eyes snaping open she reaches for the kinfe hidden on her.

[Pandaren]

They stop moving and turn towards her, just kind of waiting.

[Osnagard]

What.. what do you want?

She breaks into tears

I'm soo sorry, he makes me do it. I don't want to go to jail. The puppies saved me. then breaks into blubbering.

[Pandaren]

They float there they don't move closer or farther, they just wait. It's kind of weird actually.

[Osnagard]

What... do you... want?

She asks between sobs.

[Pandaren]

One of them makes a noise that can only be described as shadowy... it's kind of between a whisper and a whistle,it might not have even been a sound, it might have just been Sorry's imagination...

[Osnagard]

Shadowy?

She slowly stops crying as she decides they don't mean any harm. That said, she doesn't lower her defences either. Knows far better than that.

[Pandaren]

The one that made the noise moves about an inch closer.

[Osnagard]

Sorry stands up and walks a little closer. Trying to figure out what it's thinking.

[Pandaren]

The shadows turn towards her as she moves.

[Osnagard]

She tries to keep an eye on all of them. Which may be difficult depending on if they surrounded her or not.

She tries something else, and waves hello.

[Pandaren]

They are in two lines rows(woops), five in the first row, five in the second, the one that moved an inch forward before is the thrid one(form teh right or left) in the front. They react to Sorry's wave by turning around quickly, like they thought she was waving at somebody else in the room. They turn back to Sorry.

[Osnagard]

Silly. She giggles when they turn.

You look like an army, and you're the leader.

She points out the shadow which advanced slightly.

Then she starts thinking she needs the help of another member of this church, a very important one.

[Pandaren]

(deadtime, sorry)
the shadows will react very slowly(as shown right now) unless Sorry gives a command, they will follow it, and quickly.

[Osnagard]

I'd like to get changed now... could you umm.. wait outside?

They do so. Sorry doesn't call them out, not does she appear. Looks like she must've fallen asleep.

The Preist, with a new cloak on makes sure he is completely hidden, then teleports to the tavern.

[Osnagard]

The Preist walks up to the steps, but before entering looks at Brie.

You didn't walk that way! How dissapointing! Oh well! We're here now! Shall we? Of course we shall! What else is there to do? NOthing! Indeed! Yes! Haha! To the inside! Perpare yourselves! Very prepared! Oh!

[Artemis97]

Brie steps from the shadows and folows the priest up the steps. "If you say so..."

[blackout]

Oh, I'm prepared...lessee, motion-tracker mines, grenades, guns, ammo, mini-bomb. Yup, good to go.

[Artemis97]

Brie looks at Moose, still a little concerned. "Are you alright?"

[blackout]

Just dandy. Deathmurderkilldeathmurderkill...

[Artemis97]

"I take it you aren't the sort that like to...play in the shadows." Brie remarks.

[blackout]

No, not really. That, and I hate gods with a passion.

[Artemis97]

The woman frowns. "They can be very unforgiving."

[blackout]

Well, I worshipped them like crazy as a kid, then they ****ed me over. I'm kind of bitter about that.

[Artemis97]

Brie nods in understanding. "One small mistake and they turn their backs on you." He features seem to darken as she remembers.

[Vhaidara]

A gang of pigeons poop out a message on the ground:

Artemis, Woods.

[blackout]

Thing is, I didn't make a mistake...I don't think I did.

[Artemis97]

Brie shrugs. "And who can say what the Gods think?"

[Vhaidara]

Danae planeshifts into the temple, right above Moose's head. She would fall on him, but her wings catch her.

[blackout]

Oh, hello, my friendly little niece. I'm about to blow the **** out of this church. Care to join in? :smallbiggrin:

First, how's that priest? Lacking any major male parts? If so, my trap worked perfectly.

Brie spots Danae. "Fiend!" She sounds surprised and angry.

[Vhaidara]

(She's in split wing, half angel half demon/devil wings. Otherwise she looks like a normal, very curvy 21-year old human girl that can planeshift.)

Was he talking? I hope not. That muteness poison is so rare.

Brie turns her shocked expression to Moose. "You're related to her?!"

"I don't like dealing with denizens of the lower planes. They're nothing but liars and traitors who lure you in with their deceptions before stabbing you in the back and destroying you utterly." Her every syllable drips with hatred.

Well, it may surprise you to know that this is the lowest plane I've willingly gone to.

"What a surprise, It's the same for me." Brie replies mockingly.

[Vhaidara]

If you're going to just assume the opposite of whatever I say, then listen to this: I've been to the tenth hell, the last layer of the abyss, and raped every Archdevil and Demon Prince there is.

[blackout]

O_o Ok, I'm out of here. Moose breaks out of the deadtimed priest's grip, and leaves.

Danae throws Brie a scroll of Zone of Truth.

[Artemis97]

Brie catches the scroll and pockets it. "Nothing you saw as wrong, anyways." She says acidicly before turning away.

[Vhaidara]

No, nothing wrong. No murders, no rapes, no random attacks. Well, one random attack, and that was an attempt to mute that damn priest.

[Artemis97]

Brie keeps walking away. She doesn't seem to be listening anymore.

[Vhaidara]

Well well well, miss high and mighty's too good to deal with a simple fiend. She's too good to see the truth when it's being shoved up her *****.
Danae makes these taunts with a straight face, and follows Moose.

[Artemis97]

A six foot shadow manifests itself in front of Danae. It's red eyes smolder like glowing coals.

[Vhaidara]

Unfortunately, it will find that she's already in the police station.

[Artemis97]

Brie walks back into the streets, the shadow follows her.

[Darius Midnite]

As the drow assassin, Darius Midnite, appeared in a thick could of black smoke, all seemed a little darker, the night a bit colder and a hush fell over the insects hidden in the trees. With silent steps he walked towards the front gate, gliding across the stone floor like a ghost, with his displaced image right behind him. He began studying the place carefully, his white and weary eyes looking over each detail of the Church.

((It's good to be back to the Town again))

[Osnagard]

The mute woman Annetia walks up to Darius.

She motions that she would like to help him if he needs it.

The Preist dissapears with a puff of smoke.

[Darius Midnite]

Darius looks at her with cold eyes, then replies calmly but in a strange voice "I am searching for a place where shadows gather, this church seems suitable" He observes the fountain for a few second, then turns his attention back to the mute woman"I trust that I am welcome here..." He says with a voice that leaves no room for objections.

[Osnagard]

She nods, then bows and motions toward the main chamber.

She'll also follow, trying to be helpfull
