Say I wan to make D&D stats for a creature from a video game. Would I post that in Homebrew or in Gaming (Other)?

Well, I don't know what the Mod answer would be, but Xaroth started these (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?348173-Video-Game-protagonists-as-D-amp-D-characters) threads (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?347835-Video-Game-bosses-as-D-amp-D-characters) awhile back in the 3.5 subforum, and there weren't any objections.

My best guess would be that if you were looking to craft the video game characters using a particular system's existing mechanics, putting the thread in the sub-forum appropriate to that system (as Xaroth has done) seems appropriate, since people knowledgeable of that system would be more likely to lend their expertise to the issue. If instead, you were looking to create a version of (for example, Mario) that operates under D&D rules but isn't technically created using existing 3.5 character/monster generation rules, it would go in homebrew, like this homebrew 5e race "Plumbers" (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?485701-Plumbers-A-Race).

EDIT: As long as the thread you were looking to make would reasonably fit within the sub-forum, I think it would be fine; while I haven't seen one, I'm sure there's a thread like this somewhere in the Gaming (Other) archives, and I'm sure there's probably some threads dedicated to emulating video game characters in the 4e and 5e subforums as well.

The standard for this particular one is in the Homebrew section; there are a number of threads dedicated to videogame monsters and classes specifically. For (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?295834-The-Laguz-Shapeshifter-Therianthrope-3-5-Fire-Emblem&p=15745239#post15745239) example (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?293846-Amorphous-Slimes-(Monsters-and-Templates-from-the-Flash-game-Amorphous-)-d-amp-d-3-5), there's (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?327207-d-amp-d-ToME-Mindstars-The-Mindstars-of-Maj-Eyal) these (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?327208-Tome-Oozemancer-Slimy-Guardians-of-Nature&p=16850406#post16850406).

I agree, but one often sees this sort of thread in the D&D Nth Edition subfora as well. I think a lot of people don't realise we even have a homebrew subforum...

Probably Homebrew, but it's not a big deal either way.
