Aw, LP is sick. That's too bad. I know it's my birthday, but I'll bring him some chicken blood soup. It's a family recipe, with all of his favorite uncles in it. It even comes with this special fork...

What is a magic item? A magic item is a piece of equipment that has been enhanced by magical forces, given bonus to stat or special abilities. A magic item has stats, a price/cost, a body slot (or is slotless).

Make sure to have permission before making a post. Make sure to leave your permission, or to use the permapermission thread. (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?445955-3-5-PF-GitP-Regulars-as-Permapermissions) PM the people you make items for! :3

It's okay, LP. It'll all be over soon. Not long from now, you won't feel pain, pity, or despair. Who would not want such a sublime existence?

Woo. Someone else has the sick besides me and the family. (even the baby is snotty)

Can I has my magical robot body now? You know the one. Immune to illness and age. Doesn't get sore joints, fiery throat gunk, nor an aching noggin?

One's humanity is a small price to pay in exchange for no more sick.

Generally one Googles the username of the subject in regards to their GitP activity and makes them things based on that.

Or just make stuff based on their username.

LP inviting me to a GitP regulars thread? How nifty! Very well, I give my permission.

I'm honestly a bit surprised. I mean, I'm mostly active in the PbP section, but hey, I'm willing to branch out. Let's see, the topic is GitP regulars as magic items. How...very...

I can make it easier on you. Favorite magic item I've come up with: Armadablade (+1 armblade, Master's Touch, Morphing). Use it as any one- or two-handed weapon you can think of or find stats for! Always have proficiency! Never be disarmed!

Very well! Admittedly this is mostly based on 1) warforged, 2) melee, and 3) what bulbapedia (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pangoro_(Pok%C3%A9mon)) says about Pangoro, but I rather like it. May I present to you:

Laird Moon

Mask of Aggressive Intercession (Warforged Component: Attached)
This iron face resembles that of a construct panda's, though the expression is much more belligerent than one would expect from such an herbivore. It radiates an aura of aggression and power that gives pause to those who would prey on the weak.

You gain a bite attack that deals 1d6+your strength modifier damage. This damage is considered magic for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction. If you hit a creature with this bite attack, you can make an demoralize (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/skills/intimidate.htm) check against that creature as a free action. In addition, any opponent you threaten takes a -4 penalty on attack rolls on any target except you.

Moderate Enchantment; CL 5th; Craft Wondrous Item (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/feats.htm#craftWondrousItem); Magic Fang (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/magicFang.htm), Cause Fear (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/causeFear.htm); Price 12,500 gp.

Not bad, but I think we can heighten the reference and greatly improve the relevance to melee combat.

LairdMaon:
Sacred Sword and King's Shield (Slotless)
Despite its name this sword and shield are permanently conjoined as a single intelligent magic item, a glorious metalic sword and shield bound together by cloth.
Effects: This item will never willingly stray more than thirty feet from its owner and has two separate forms it can assume as part of a move action up to fifteen feet. In attack form this item will Power Attack on its owner's turn as directed by free action speech from same as a broadsword with 18 strength and BAB equal to the owner's level. In addition this item can be directed to grant a +5 untyped AC bonus to any adjacent creature at the owner's command and regardless of form. If it is not so commanded and is in range to do so it automatically grants this protection to its owner. In defense form it will no longer attack in any way, but grants total cover and DR 10 in place of the armor bonus of the other form.
Price: Inapplicable the item chooses its owner.

Helm of Paranoia
[Major Wondrous Item] (BilltheCynic)
This helm resembles a homemade hat of tin foil, but is far more sturdy and structured.

Wearing this helm gives you a +10 competence bonus on Sense Motive checks and a continual Mind Blank effect. In addition, you may expend an immediate action once per day to gain a +15 bonus to either one saving throw of your choice, or your AC until the end of the round.

Strong Abjuration; CL 15; Craft Wondrous Item (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/feats.htm#craftWondrousItem); Mind Blank (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/mindBlank.htm), Moment of Prescience (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/momentOfPrescience.htm); Price 145,000 gp.

* * * * *

The price should be even higher according to the formula for making a magic item, but it seemed overpriced to me, so I knocked it down a bit. Still ridiculously expensive, but not "more expensive than any non-epic and non-Mirror-of-Life-Trapping wondrous items on the SRD" expensive anymore. :smalltongue:

Bah! It doesn't even shield against Mindsight! Those Formians will still be able to pinpoint me!

Otherwise, nifty! Now they'll never know where I hid my backup spellbook or my clone! [Ok, they're on my demiplane, but I won't give you anything else!]

Probably you. I'm honestly just now starting to steep my tows in magery (so much paperwork...) but I am playing a wizard in my 5e game and really loving it. So far my paranoia in that game has lead me to 1) take an otherwise useless feat (Keen Mind) so I can pair it with Minor Conjuration for the sole purpose of magically recreating my spellbook with a snap of my fingers if the DM ever targets it, and 2) Having a pre-written wish just in case the DM brings up an obnoxiously literal genie.

Decently familiar. Mindrape is of course the standard "change their very personality" (fun stuff). IIRC Vecna Blooded is "everyone forgets about you." Miracle is Miracle. Ice Assassin is making your own personal duplicate of anyone you can get a fragment of, Teleport Through Time is exactly what it sounds like. Genesis is for creating your own Demiplane. Craft Contingency spell is, to quote (Un)Inspired:

Contingency is like playing chess but you get to make several moves on your turn, several on you opponents turn and you're aloud to rearrange the board when he gets up to go to the bathroom.

My problem is figuring out where to draw the line between paranoia and gouda. I mean sure, you could say you're being properly paranoid and taking steps to mitigate your squishiness when you True Mind Switch with the Tarrasque, and indeed it will, but...you've just True Mind Switched with the Tarrasque!

Regardless, you obviously have much more knowledge is paranoia-fu than me. I would be humbled if you would show me your ways. Unless...that's just what you want me to do!

Helm of Warranted Paranoia
[Major Cursed Wondrous Item] (BilltheCynic)
This helm resembles a homemade hat of tin foil, but is far more sturdy and structured.

Wearing this helm gives you a -10 competence bonus on Bluff checks and amplifies the effects of Read Thoughts cast on the wearer, increasing the will save by 6. In addition, if the wearer should ever come within a mile of an illithid conclave's brain, the wearer's location and intelligence score is immediately conveyed to any illithid within that conclave.

Special: The price, appearance, and spells used to create the Helm of Warranted Paranoia are all identical to that of the Helm of Paranoia, so it is never entirely clear what you are getting when you find one. Whenever you get a Helm of Paranoia as loot or purchase one from a merchant, there is a 10% chance you will instead receive a Helm of Warranted Paranoia.

Strong Abjuration; CL 15; Craft Wondrous Item (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/feats.htm#craftWondrousItem); Mind Blank (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/mindBlank.htm), Moment of Prescience (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/momentOfPrescience.htm); Price 145,000 gp.

That...I...that is both perfectly awesome and awful at the exact same time. And is it wrong that the first thing I thought of when reading it is combining it with Sovereign Glue and placing it on someone you don't like? Or better yet, combining it with Programmed Amnesia and tweaking a few memories so they have an almost compulsive need to wear it?

Okay a quick primer on the basics for the new acolyte: http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?498245-The-Riddle-of-Vecna-s-Chosen

Now upon looking at that post again I realize I should really give the framing device that that entire thread was based around first protecting against people making ice assassins of you to mindrape them for all you know. It got rather extreme from there. Most of it is almost certainly a step above necessary at the vast majority of tables, and I've since added even more stupidly complex failsafe plans, but that will give you a general idea of my mindset. It isn't safe for anyone to know about you. Not even you. Therefore the only sane thing to do is to stop knowing about yourself in a controlled manner.

Periapt of the Loyal Guardian
[Major Wondrous Item] (LoyalPaladin)
This golden chain has a small mithril tower shield dangling from the end. An intricate carving of a nondescript humanoid adorns it.

To use this periapt, it must first be bonded to someone. The creature must touch the periapt and willingly say the command word. After doing so, that creature (hereafter referred to as the guardian) is bonded to the periapt, and the carving on it shifts to resemble that creature. A guardian can only be bound to a single periapt at a time. If he tries to bind himself to a second one, he is no longer bound to the first one. A guardian can end his binding to any periapt by saying the command word backwards. The periapt must be worn by someone other than the guardian to be effective. If worn by the guardian, it behaves like an ordinary periapt. If worn by someone else (hereafter referred to as the ward), once per day the ward can speak a command word and summon the guardian, along with any of his gear, to any spot within 50 feet. The guardian knows who is summoning him and can refuse the summon. When summoned, the guardian appears instantly to the surprise of all and is immediately appraised of the situation to the best of the Ward's knowledge, allowing him to immediately take a single standard action, during which all foes are treated as flat footed. After this, the guardian rolls initiative and acts as normal. Upon the Ward speaking the command word again within 24 hours since the Guardian was summoned, the Guardian is immediately transported back to where he was before being called to the Ward. In addition, the Guardian and Ward can communicate telepathically over any distance.

Strong Conjuration; CL 16th; Craft Wondrous Item (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/feats.htm#craftWondrousItem), Refuge (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/refuge.htm), Telepathic Bond (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/telepathicBond.htm); Price 60,000 gp.

Alright, Draconium! First, I would like to thank you for making it so easy to decide a theme for your items. Of course, there is the slight problem that game is called Dungeons and Dragons, so there are already a ridiculous amount of draconic items out there. Hopefully I won't make many that have too much overlap, but some is sadly inevitable. However, I think we do better than making a single item: how about we shoot for a set!

This billowing red cloak has an odd split half-way down the center, and ends in several sharp points that resemble bony protrusions.

When you speak a command word, the cloak transforms into batlike wings and grants you a fly speed equal to you move speed with average maneuverability. If you become unconscious or helpless while in midair and the wings are active, they unfurl and stiffen, causing you to descend in a tight corkscrew and take only 1d6 points of falling damage, no matter what the actual distance of the fall. In addition, while active you may furiously flap your wings to create a Gust of Wind (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/gustOfWind.htm) spell (Fortitude DC 18 negates).

Moderate Transmutation; CL 13th; Craft Wondrous Item, Fly (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/fly.htm), Gust of Wind (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/gustOfWind.htm); 54,000 gp

Draconium

Alright, Draconium! First, I would like to thank you for making it so easy to decide a theme for your items. Of course, there is the slight problem that game is called Dungeons and Dragons, so there are already a ridiculous amount of draconic items out there. Hopefully I won't make many that have too much overlap, but some is sadly inevitable. However, I think we do better than making a single item: how about we shoot for a set!

... I'm listening.

Hmm... Interesting... Nothing too powerful, but many of them do grant some good bonuses and abilities... And having more of the set gives you some really thematic abilities. Overall? I like it. I like it a lot. Now, excuse me while I add these to my extended signature hoard.

new treat and its time to put some thing for my self agaaaain.
ladies and gentlemen I khadgar567 represents to you yugioh version of deck of many things

Khadgar's Deck of many chicks

A deck of many chicks is usually found in a box or leather pouch. Each deck contains a number of cards or plaques made of ivory or vellum. Each is engraved with glyphs, characters, and sigils. As soon as one of these cards is drawn from the pack, its magic is bestowed upon the person who drew it, for better or worse.
The character with a deck of many things who wishes to draw a card must announce how many cards she will draw before she begins. Cards must be drawn within 1 hour of each other, and a character can never draw from this deck any more cards than she has announced. If the character does not willingly draw her allotted number (or if she is somehow prevented from doing so), the cards flip out of the deck on their own.
Each time a card is taken from the deck, it is replaced (making it possible to draw the same card twice) unless the draw is the Jester or the Fool, in which case the card is discarded from the pack. A deck of many things contains 22 cards. To simulate the magic cards, you may want to use tarot cards, as indicated in the second column of the accompanying table. If no tarot deck is available, substitute ordinary playing cards instead, as indicated in the third column. The effects of each card, summarized on the table, are clarified below.
