Upon looking at the way life and death in the Legend of Zelda universe, I have come upon an inescapable conclusion. The Hyrulean known as Link is a lich. For a specific example of this, take a look at A Link to the Past. Each and every time you die, you respawn at your house, with no progress loss. Normally, this can be explained by a cleric, but the only character who might fit that build is killed by the fourth dungeon. Yet you still resurrect the same way. By showing up in your home. Like when you start the game by getting out of bed. Your phylactery must be ion the house somewhere, but where and what? It cannot be your sword, because you have it on you in the dungeon. It cannot be the pots. They're likely to be smashed before you leave the house for the first time. It's unlikely to be the plants, so what?

Your bed, where you stay the game. That cannot be broke. That's unlikely to be stolen.

Link is a lich.

Nah, that rezzing is just a gameplay mechanic. Remember there is an entire timeline where the original Hero(Link) died.

Plus remember, Link has the backing of 3 goddesses AND Great Fairies, who have an army of small fairies that do nothing BUT heal or rez link when he dies.

They probably don't hurt living beings.

What else could A Link to the Past have in common with Order of the Stick though? Fortune tellers (http://zelda.wikia.com/wiki/Fortune_Teller). The Sword of Evil's Bane, which can also be lost and replaced (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0144.html) by something far less legendary (http://zelda.wikia.com/wiki/Bug-Catching_Net), as well as reforged (http://zelda.wikia.com/wiki/Tempered_Sword). You need both a magic sword and a book (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots1045.html) to learn to shoot lightning (http://zelda.wikia.com/wiki/Ether_Medallion). Wanted posters (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0715.html). Ludicrous and sunny thief hideouts (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0711.html).

That and the fact Link is an elf. Pointy ears and great height, everyone else is a gnome.
