We're thinking of having a 'rofl box' that people have to drop a £ into whenever they use the phrase. Just in casual conversation, he has responded 'rofl' (to rhyme with waffle) when I cracked a particularly witty joke and 'I LOLed' when thinking back to an amusing incident. To be fair, he also performed an entire verse of a (comedy) song in L337... It was a lovesong about being a geek in love with a 'normal' girl.

(always spelled out.) t3h is just another dialect/slang way to say the (as is da) and is used as well. We also say Asot (ass-ot) short for "a series of tubes" to mean the internet. interestingly enough, I haven't actually seen that one on the internet.

At my school, being full of geeks, 1337 is the accepted norm, but I only ever use it sarcasticaly. I have taken to saying Oh-Em-Gee-Double-You-Tee-Ef-Bee-Bee-Cue at random points in conversation I find boring.

Yes, yes I have. Quite repeteadly, in fact. It's a good way to convey your amusement to the other person when you don't want to do the whole laughing your ass off out loud due to some reason - ie, being in the middle of Calculus class :smallwink: - or are simply amused but don't really feel like truly laughing, which happens to me a lot, I have kind of an expressive disfunction, and actually laughing is rather hard for me, even when I do find stuff funny. I have also used other of these english-based acronyms and leetspeak-terms, such as newbie or noob, for example. None of my friends fnds it too odd, either. And we're not even native english speakers.
