Low level Dark/grey area magic.

I am trying to think of low level spells that I can give to an NPC which are seen as evil/occupy a grey area. The spell should have an obvious effect that a commoner with no knowledge of magic could recognise. At first I was thinking of creating undead but both animate dead and lesser animate dead are higher level than I was hoping for (I am looking for a first or 2nd level spell)
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Summon Undead? Using Summon Monster to summon fiendish creatures/demons/devils?

BoVD has corrupt spells like Devil's Tongue. And some evil arcanist spells like Demonflesh.

Charm Person? Turning someone into your personal slave is pretty evil. Ofcourse, it's not that easy to recognise with a Sense Motive DC of 25...
