I saw no thread for Mare Internum (http://www.marecomic.com/comic/intro-page-1/), the best sci-fi webcomic out there that I've seen. By the same author of The Meek (http://www.meekcomic.com/).

The latest chapter has just finished, with some new developments that have the entire readership trying to figure out what's going on. Checking it out might very well be the best thing you do today :smallwink:

Ah, I was reading that a while ago, and I found the premise quite interesting, but the interludes/flashbacks... I noped out on those. Too heavy for me. :smallsigh:

I just discovered it about a week ago, and so far I've enjoyed it quite a lot.
I have a suspicion that the four-billion-year-old creature Bex supposedly killed isn't actually dead yet, given that something with that sort of longevity doesn't seem like it could be defeated so easily. I'm quite curious to see where the story goes, though.

I think he/she is recreated by the system each time it dies. At least, that's the way I understood it.

Yeah, that's what I was picking up on, too. The quote to the effect of "I think that was my body at the bottom of the lake" kinda implied that. What kind of time scale we're talking about for recreation though, is another story.

Though Levi's apparent recreation as Thrip looks like it might happen pretty fast.

The bugging question for me is why didn't Michael (and Kallakore) understand Thrip-LEVi.

If I had to guess, I'd say it has something to do with all the fungus growing off of Mike's face. It might have changed his ability to understand languages? I mean, he never responds to Bex, so it's not clear if he even knew what she was saying.

But then again, Kallakore said that Levi taught them english... Maybe Kallakore did understand thrip? He/she was wondering at one point if it belonged to Mike, and if it never introduced itself, neither would know what it was.

Or maybe Mike just wrote it off in his mind as an annoying bug, and paid no attention to it. It's certainly a big mystery.

Could be. I suppose only time will tell.
