So in many forums and IRL, I've heard that many people who create recurring villains in a campaign after a while start having problems with coming up with new ideas for what their BBEG should do to suprise the PC's, gather information on the PC's or just mess with the PC's in general so I decided why not start a thread with bizarre, vile, humorous and or fun things to add in campaigns. Here are some that I have come up with and to all those who have ideas of their own post your idea, how to execute it in general and I will add it on future edits.

The messenger

For this strategy, the BBEG will magically convince someone within his ranks that knows about him so that that he completely hates him wants to get rid of him through Mindrape. Then use him to send a message to the PC’s. He will also magically put the plan inside the messenger to betray him and start plotting with the PC’s and giving the messenger false information to give to the PC’s after which when the PC’s have plotted with him and he leaves, the BBEG will the proceed to Mindrape him to get all the information on the plans. If necessary he will then use a Change shape ability/spells to go as the messenger to get more information or further develop the plan to make it a complete catastrophe. Obviously to avoid magic information gathering that is accurate the messenger will have a magical implant (no space occupation item) that has the spell Misdirection on it sending spells like Arcane sight, Detect lies, Detect (Alignment) and other spells that detect auras to an animal or rock. Due to that they will still be able to detect his thoughts as it is not aura related and make sure he does want to betray the BBEG but they will not be able to detect the Mindrape spell but instead sense nothing.


Dopple-twins

For this the BBEG will secretly capture one of the NPC’s and replace him with a Doppelgänger under Monstrous Thrall effect, after which another Doppelgänger disguised as the character will kill the other Doppelgänger by backstabbing him revealing that the other one is a Doppelgänger. That way the characters will believe the Doppelgänger is actually the NPC after which the Doppelgänger will kill the characters in their sleep, sabotage something or something similar.


The infiltrator

For this the BBEG will send a Fiend to possess one of the party members in their sleep and quickly cast the Imprison Possessor spell locking him in. Then he will do a Flesh to Stone spell on the body, stone shape it to a medium sized pebble then use shrink item and permanency. Finally he will put it in a desert. The Fiend will be ordered to not put the possessed creature in Ally status under any circumstance but instead to remain hidden and in the least opportune moment to go into an enemy status or try to control him to attack another party member on a major fight or similar.


Gladiatorial fight

For this the characters will be forcefully split up into 2 groups, on both sides they will be given cloaks that cover their faces and bodies. After that they will be sent into a room to fight some random opponents also covered with the cloaks on both sides with the same numbers, continue that with semi hard opponents mainly to waste up resources and on the last room do a fight among each group still covered by the cloaks.
