Hey all

I am working on a character concept loosely based upon enigma from dota 2 (http://www.dota2.com/hero/Enigma/) and I'm trying to get an ability for his ultimate that pulls people to the center of a point in space.

So far the only things I could find that were remotely close were slightly altering Reverse Gravity (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/reverseGravity.htm) to be usable on any point and the 9th level ability from the Entropomancer class (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20040502a).

Are there any other options to pull targets towards yourself or a specific point that are out there? Ideally I'd like to have the character somewhat up and running before levels 12+ so any lower level abilities would be immensely helpful.

I guess there's Telekinesis and its relatives (like Telekinetic Maneuver), but that's probably a little less elegant than you might like.

I thought the Wu Jen spell Magnetism might help, but it only works on objects, not on creatures. Even targeting someone's armor has you end up trying to break the armor free from their body rather than dragging the whole creature towards you.

The level 5 LEM utterance Eldritch Attraction will draw someone towards you, but it won't come online by level 12 (you need 14 levels in Truenamer, minimum).

Would it be enough to have some kind of enchantment or compulsion effect that forces the target to walk where you dictate, rather than some kind of gravity-style effect that physically drags them? There's a handful of those out there, but I don't know if that's enough for you.

Magnetic Pulse (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/fw/20040416a), perhaps?

Looked at this too, but the weight limit really holds it back in terms of an AOE pull. Even with Empower it would only be 450 lbs at level 12 and anything bigger than medium would be difficult to pull (and at most 3-4 medium creatures).

Man, if only Truenamer was better.

Yeah Suggestion/Mass Suggestion might work for this, but I'd have to chain it for any AOE in early levels.

This is a really cool spell  and would totally work if it wasn't metal only.

If enchantments are enough, there's Command (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/command.htm) and Greater Command (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/commandGreater.htm), as well as the spell Beckon Person on pg. 255 of Tome of Magic. (Beckon Person does require that you be able to use Truespeak, but it's pretty much just a flat DC 15 for the base effect, regardless of whom you're targeting. You also don't need a personal truename, which is extremely rare for the Truespeak-related spells in ToM.)

Complete Mage pg. 112 offers Otto's Imperative Ambulation, which forces the subject to spend its move actions moving, but it doesn't give you control over where the subject must move. You might talk to your GM to see if you could research a higher-level version that does give you control over where the subject moves.

I thought there were some psionic powers that also forced the target to walk toward you, but I might be misremembering. I know that Attraction (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/attraction.htm) only works when not in combat, but I thought there was a higher-level version that did work? I can't remember which, if any, power would actually do that, but you might look into it.

You can also play around with Flush Out (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?478918-Flush-Out-Can-we-optimize-this-3-5&highlight=flush+out), though there's a lot of missing or hazy rules associated with Flush Out, so you'll need a sympathetic GM.

I found something similar. Sirellyn's Superior Magnetism (http://archive.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=dnd/sb/sb20030504x), sor/wiz 6. You toss out a piece of metal, hit it with the spell, and it draws things that are metal toward it.
