Commercium
Conjuration Cantrip

Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 5 ft
Components: V, S, M
Duration: Instantaneous

A set of large golden scales appear in front of you; coins fly from your pockets, pouches, bags, and even the floor around you, piling up on one side. With a flash of light, the coins are gone - and the other end of the scales are now weighed down by a different set of coins.

Select an amount of currency within range of you; this money disappears. In its place, you gain an amount of another currency (the type of which you must specify) of equal value to the currency given up. Either side of this exchange can be mixed denomination if you prefer, as long as both sides are of equivalent value. At your DM's discretion, this currency exchange may or may not involve jewels, gemstones, trade goods, and/or foreign currencies not used in the area you currently occupy, if your DM agrees that such things are acceptable as currency. This spell cannot exchange anything other than currency or currency-equivalents. Additionally, the value of exchanged currencies may fluctuate over time due to market pressures - again, at DM discretion.

Material Component: small lead coin

DM Adaption: This spell does not transmute currency into another currency of equivalent value, it transports different currencies between two locations, typically some kind of neutral banking service that may operate at a national, international, or even interplanar scale (such as the Gnomes of Zurich, House Kundarak, a merchant guild in the Brass City, a banking monopoly in Union, or what have you). If an organization set up in this fashion is not appropriate to your setting/campaign, this spell may not be appropriate either.

Equivalent Exchange
1st-level Conjuration (ritual)

Casting Time: 1 minute
Range: 30 ft
Components: V, S, M
Duration: Instantaneous

A set of large golden scales appear in front of you, weighing the items indicated. With a flash of light, the items disappear - replaced by something else.

Select any number of items within range, up to a maximum total value of 250 gp (this can include currency, but doesn't have to); it is replaced with items/currency (the type of which you must specify) of equivalent value according to market prices. Either side can be any mix of items and money that you desire, as long as both sides are of equivalent value and within the gold piece limit. You may not make multiple one-way transactions in order to gain items of much greater value (you could not, for example, cast this spell at 1st lvl four times, giving up 250 gp each time, in order to receive a spyglass). At your DM's discretion, particularly rare items, and possibly even magic items, can be purchased or sold in this manner.

If this spell is cast in the same location every day for two weeks, the Large scales created by this spell become permanent, allowing anybody with access to the scales to take 1 minute to transfer any amount of items/currency for an amount of items/currency of equivalent value; the maximum total value for a permanent set of scales is equal to the maximum total value that would be available from the lowest-level casting used over the course of this two-week period. This permanent set of scales cannot generally be transported, but has a fixed location; at your DM's discretion, they may allow a set of scales to become a permanent fixture of a vehicle if it is large enough to hold them.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, double the maximum total value in gold pieces for every additional spell level. This stacks multiplicatively (for instance, casting this spell in a 2nd level slot allows for up to 500 gp worth of items/currency, while casting this spell in a 9th level slot allows for up to 64000 gp worth of items/currency.

Material Component: small steel coin

DM Adaption: Even more so than Commercium, this spell is heavily setting-dependent. As with Commercium, this spell is not transmuting one set of items/currency into another set, but is rather transporting them between two locations - specifically, transporting them between your location and the location of any permanent set of scales created by two weeks worth of casting this spell in the same location. Particularly high-level permanent scales are expected to be rare-but-existent, allowing you some way of restricting the goods available via this spell at higher levels.

After a bit of thought, realized I should probably include what classes get the spell, as well as the material components.
