Weapon and Armor Proficiency
An Angel of Hope is proficient with all simple weapons, and with no armor.

Main class features

Angelic kinship
An angel of hope holds a strong and intimate connection with the realm of positive energy. To such a point that a small piece of that realms godly magic is always anchored within their own body. Themselves a beacon of this holy magic. However this does come with a cost, those of evil origins have an incredible disdain towards those who hold such a power, and such powers interfere and hurt the energy that courses through their bodies. Starting at level 1 an Angel of hope has an aura of good equal to their level as well as become permanently weakened to negative energy while they hold this power. Becoming weak to all negative energy affects, taking double damage from negative energy sources of damage.

Caduceus’s magic:As a standard action the Angel of Hope may connect themselves with positive energy to a target within 15ft, Will save equal 10+½ Angel of hope level+cha Modifier to negate. This connection is shown through a glowing ethereal cord of pure positive energy. While the cord is active they are unable to take attack actions and require concentration while active. The Cord is immediately destroyed whenever the target is out of view or out of range. When an Angel of Hope uses this ability they may choose a type of magic available to them and the target gains the benefit of it. Only one type of magic may be used per cord. An Angel of hope may not connect a Caduceus’s magic cord to themselves, and are subject to the Arcane spell chance failure of armor when using any of their class abilities.

Caduceus’s magic, healing:By pulsing positive energy through their Caduceus’s magic they may bring upon a healing effect through their corded bonds. Using this healing effect, every round the bonded target is effected by a cure light wounds spell as if cast by the angel of hope. While using this ability you add your chr modifier to the amount of healing from the spell instead of your level.

Divine body:The powers of life run through an Angel of hope and as such the energies of the positive plain passively keep them alive. Starting at level 2 they gain a fastheal equal to half their level in Angel of Hope.

Caduceus’s magic, strength: When creating a magic bond with Caduceus’s magic an Angel of hope may use the Strength quality for their cord. The strength quality adds to the amount of damage the target deals when making a physical attack. Empowering their bodies, the target may add a d6 untyped magic damage with every attack they do. This added damage continuing until the bond is no longer active.

Angelic descent:Starting at level 4 an angel of hope may use Feather fall as an at-will spell like ability but to only affect themselves.

Guardian Angel: Starting at level 5,by delving power from the godly realms, the Angel of Hope may as a move action teleport next to a target within sight and 25ft+ 5ft/2 levels. The target must be a living creature.

Divine vitality: Starting at level 6 an Angel of Hope’s body pulses with positive energy purging their body of the corruption of normal poisons and diseases, rendering them immune to their effects. As well as their bodies do not age at the same rate as mortals do. An angel of hope no longer takes penalties towards aging and the maximum age for their race is now doubled.

Improved Caduceus’s magic, healing: starting at level 7 by Further honing the positive energy within their bodies they may provide better healing. The bonded target is now considered under the effects of cure moderate wounds instead of Cure light wounds. While using this ability you add your chr modifier to the amount of healing from the spell instead of your level.

Angelic Resurrect: Starting at level 8 an Angel of Hope may pull the very spirits of the recently dead back within their bodies. As a full round action they may attempt to resurrect a single target which has died within the last 1d6 rounds and within range of their Caduceus magic. In order to resurrect the target the Angel of Hope must succeed on a concentration check equal to the amount of negative hit points the dead individual has. (Example: Frank the Kobold has been shot with an arrow, killing him and leaving him at -14 hp. After rolling a d6 Phil, the Angel of Hope has 2 rounds to get to frank and roll a concentration check of 14 to resurrect Frank.) This magic does not work on those killed from non damaging effects, such as instant death effects, attribute damage, or negative levels.

When an individual is resurrected in this matter they instantly heal 1d6hp/2levels of Angel of Hope. the resurrected individual also loses experience equal to 500 x their current level, as their bodies are being woven back together and the magic needy for such a task drains them. An individual revived by this ability may only take half actions on the following round.

Improved Caduceus’s magic, strength: Starting at level 9 the connection between a bonded individual becomes stronger. When using the strength quality, the empowered individual deals an additional 2d6 untyped magic damage per attack instead of a d6.

Twin Caduceus magic:Starting at level 10 an Angel of hope may now connect two ethereal cords at once. These cords may be towards the same target, but the same effect cannot be done towards the same target. However, if you are targeting two different people, they may be of the same type of Caduceus magic. All targets must still be within 15ft of the Angel of Hope.

Guardian of the dead:Starting at level 11 an angel of hope may use their guardian angel ability on the recently deceased. Able to declare those who have died within 1+chr modifier amount of rounds as possible targets for their guardian angel ability. Targets must still be within sight to use this ability.

Greater Caduceus’s magic, healing: Starting at level 13, by Further honing the positive energy within their bodies they may provide better healing. The bonded target is now considered under the effects of cure serious wounds instead of Cure moderate wounds. While using this ability you add your chr modifier to the amount of healing from the spell instead of your level.

Improved Divine vitality: Starting at level 14 not even magic can corrupt an Angel of hope's body. They are now Immune to Magical poisons and diseases, as well to fatigue and exhaustion, even by magical effects. As well as the maximum age for their race is now tripled in regards to the Angel of Hope.

Greater Caduceus’s magic, strength: starting at level 15 the connection between a bonded individual becomes stronger. When using the strength quality, the empowered individual deals an additional 3d6 untyped magic damage per attack instead of 2d6.

Path Chosen: At level 15 an Angel of Hope may choose to specialize down a specific path. Once a path has been chosen then they will receive all of the benefits of that path at the specified level. Once a path has been chosen they may not switch paths unless they undergo a repetitive ritual to realign themselves that requires 100gp/level in supplies, which is expended during the ritual. The ritual itself only takes 24 hours, interruption of it will cause the ritual to be reset. An Angel of Hope gains additional abilities from the path that they have chosen at the levels of 15, 18, and 20. As they progress through their understanding and power of the path that they have chosen.

Sinister Saint
Journeyman: Not all who embark on the quest of an Angel of hope follow the path of good. Those who have chosen to bend their powers towards evil usually take the path of the Sinister Saint. At level 15 when the Angel of Hope resurrects a target they may impose a negative 10 penalty onto their concentration check and revive them as a sentient zombie bound to their will. The individual may roll an opposing will save in order to negate the effect. An Angel of hope may only have control a total amount of HD of undead as if they were a Cleric of equal level.
Expert: At level 18 they may further corrupt the bodies they resurrect, turning them into ghouls instead of zombies.
Master: At level 20 they have learned to master their own weakness, an Angel of Hope no longer takes damage from negative energy. They may also use their Caduceus magic to heal the undead instead of damaging them.

Child of Thunder
Journeyman:Embarking on a path of mastery over the energies within themselves an Angel of Hope has learned to to turn the very energy within themselves into crackling light. This light bestowing all who are bonded with the Angel of hope with lightning that courses through them. Bestowing the Angel of hope as all allies who are currently under the effects of Caduceus magic to deal an additional d6 electric damage with every attack and gain +3 bonus to reflex saves.
Expert:At level 18 Lightning rampages across the battlefield as those revived by an Angel of Hope's Angelic Resurrect ability are filled with the very energies of light and thunder. A revived individual no longer takes half actions after being resurrected as well as the following round they gain a +30 movement speed bonus, as well as a +2 to attack, damage, and saves. These bonuses are considered a magical morale effect.
Master: At level 20 a Child of thunder has mastered the holy energies within them, becoming a beacon of life as they traverse the battlefield. An Angel of hope may take a -10 concentration penalty to their check when activating their Angelic Resurrect ability. When doing so they may affect all individuals of their choice within a 30ft radius and revive them all at once. Using the ability in this way is very taxing on the Angel of hope and they are considered stunned for a d6 rounds.

Divine Resurrection: Starting at level 17 little can stop an Angel of hope from restoring the dead back to life. They gain a miscellaneous +5 concentration bonus when using their Angelic Resurrection as well as gain the ability to resurrect those who have died from non damaging effects. In such instances where an Angel of Hope is resurrecting an individual who has died from non damaging effects the concentration check is determined by the way they had died. In case of a magical spell that brought them death, the concentration check is equal to 2x the dc of the spell. If the individual has died from negative levels, or attribute damage. The dc is equal to 2x the total attribute damage or 3x the total negative levels of the target. When such Resurrection is successful they are healed of all negative ailments regarding the way that they had died as well as lose experience equal to 750 x their current level, as such resurrections require more magic.

Greatest Caduceus’s magic, healing: Starting at level 19, by Further honing the positive energy within their bodies they may provide better healing. The bonded target is now considered under the effects of cure Critical wounds instead of Cure moderate wounds. While using this ability you add your chr modifier to the amount of healing from the spell instead of your level.

Angelic Transcendence:Starting at level 19 when an angel of hope resurrects a target, the target is considered under the effect of both Caduceus magics for a for 1d6 rounds no matter how far away they get from the angel of hope.

Notes: This is a class based off of the video game character Mercy from Blizzards: Overwatch. I have made a number of the characters into dnd 3.5 form, basing them mostly off of team work and tactical use on a battlefield. Here's a bit of critique, as I think this class has a lot of potential.

HD: D4 is okay for a primary healer, but you specifically say that they should at least somewhat invest in con to get more HP. If you think they need more HP, why not buff their HD by a bit? Not saying they should have d12, but maybe d6? They do get incredibly early fast healing though, so it may not be that big of a deal.

Skills: 6+int? That's kind of a lot, especially since you only seem to need concentration for this class.

Angelic Kinship: You should specify what sort of "connection" they can call upon. Maybe at level 1 they can summon a lantern archon for x rounds, x times/day. At level 5 they can summon a hound archon for x rounds, x times/day, etc. Give them access to different summons depending on patron diety or alignment. Maybe the evil ones summon demons/devils instead of archons/angels. That doesn't really sound like Mercy, so you may not even want to give them that ability, but if you decide to keep it in I recommend taking this advice. Regarding the fast healing part, that's kind of ridiculous. 1 fast healing at level 1 means that you're healing yourself once per round for free. At lower levels, that's a lot. At higher levels, it's not as big of a deal, but it's still really good.

Caduceus’s magic, healing:Whoa. Just Whoa. At early levels this sounds super good. CLW every round, 15 ft away, with cha to healing instead of level, once again for free sounds almost broken. Target a barbarian and they're not going below half health unless the baddies go after you. But, as is, you can still use weapons while healing, or at the very least you should say that you can't. Also, can the target move out of the 15 ft radius and still be effected by it? Can it stay active while asleep? How can you deactivate it? Can you switch from target to target? You gotta be more specific about stuff like this.

Guardian Angel: Pretty neat. Not much else to say.

Angelic Descent: See Guardian Angel.

Caduceus’s magic, strength Seems a lot less impressive than healing, at least until higher levels. Not much else to say.

Angelic Resurrect: Why is the range two times bigger than the range for the Caduceus's Magic? Do they also lose the level that you normally would by getting resurrecting? You should also specify that the DC for the concentration check is the amount of damage that they took that put them below -10 HP. That also makes death spells seem pretty much useless, as well death by 0 con or negative levels. Also, what if they get killed by stuff like disintegrate? Do they get reformed from the ashes? Just something I'd like clarification on personally.

Divine Vitality: Pretty cool. Are you also immune to magic poisons and diseases? I assume so, but specificity important.

Mastery of Caduceus magic: You should specify how many they can use at once. Just 2? Up to your level? Specificity is really important man.

Path's Chosen: Just a grammatical nitpick, but there shouldn't be an apostrophe. Also might want to change it from slipstream fighter to angle of hope in the description. Anyway, I recommend basing this off of alignment, especially with what you have so far (mostly sinister saint). Sinister Saint could be evil, you could make one for good, and maybe ones for the order axis as well. And while Mercy is a female, I recommend not using gendered names for abilities, a lot of people get pretty fussy over it.

Angelic Transcendence: Why do you not get this until level 20? The latter part of the ability sounds like a higher level ability, but the former just seems so basic. Why not have the ability from the start, but have it scale over time?

I also recommend putting all of the ranks of things like Caduceus Magic (healing) in the class features table, as it makes the class look a lot less...bland. Just do stuff like Improved Caduceus Magic (Healing), Greater Caduceus Magic (Healing), etc. This is just my opinion, but it makes the class look a lot more appealing. I also recommend organizing the class features in the order you get them, not in whatever order you have them in currently.

Other than that, this looks pretty cool! Looking forward to any more you might make!

I Agree, at first i was thinking that they didn't have a lot of abilities so the skills would make up for that, with the redo I lowered it.

The ability was good. Too good, I had to think to myself why wouldn't anybody just do a level dip in this and get that amazing bonus. I had to make a slight adjustment to make it more balanced and more helpful in the long run of the class.

It was a very big loop hole, and so it has been patched, and made the use of these abilities still rather deadly even if they are able to be resurrected.

Angelic Transcendence: Why do you not get this until level 20? The latter part of the ability sounds like a higher level ability, but the former just seems so basic. Why not have the ability from the start, but have it scale over time?
I recognized it and agree, I separated the ability into two separate fixtures and spread them across the class so you would get both in more appropriate times.

It did look bland, but I was originally going for a more simplified approach, where you would be able to just look at the abilities and see how it spread out. Putting all of the abilities at the specified levels really cluttered the table. I believe i found a good compromise though.

Thank you for your feedback:smallsmile:
