Name pending of course, but the idea is to give more oomph to a lesser used skill.. Profession!

Some of the things I want to do with it is something like weapon groups based on Profession, as well as some combat styles. Granted not all professions are particularly good at this, but some are.

So to get the weapon group, you'd need to put some ranks into the particular profession, but the variety of weapons you get helps a lot.

Profession (Guard)
Weapon Group - Light Mace, Heavy Mace, Short Sword, Long Sword, Long Bow, Short Bow
Advance Weapon Training Skills - Perception, ???

Profession (Pirate)
Weapons Group - crossbow, cutlass, dagger, hook hand, rapier, and short sword.
Advance Weapon Training Skills - Swim, Slight of Hand

Profession (Brawler)
Weapons Group - Improvised Weapons
Advance Weapon Training Skills - Slight of Hand, Acrobatics

Profession (Scout)
Weapons Group - Short Bow, Dagger, long Bow, ???
Advance Weapon Training Skills - Perception, Acrobatics

Profession (Bounty Hunter)
Weapons Group - Mancatcher, Sap, Net, Bolos, whip
Advance Weapons Training Skills - Knowledge Local, Survival

Profession (Spy)
Weapons Group - Dagger, Arrow Tube Shooter, Dart Bracelet, Heavy Bracelet
Advance Weapons Training Skills - Disguise, Sleight of Hand

Profession (Gambler)
Weapons Group - Holdout Pistol, Arrow tube Shooter, dagger
Advance Weapons Training Skills - Bluff, Sense Motive

Profession (Scribe)
Weapons Group - Dagger
Advance Weapons Training Skills - Linguistics, Any one Knowledge skill
Special Advance Weapon Training ability - Fear the Unknown - Gain a bonus equal to your bravery bonus to all knowledge checks. Can make any knowledge check untrained while you have your bravery bonus. You do not need your weapon equipped to use this ability.

Profession (Librarian)
Weapon's Group - Dagger
Advance Weapons Training Skills - Any Knowledge Skill
Specail Advance weapon Training ability - Fear the Unknown

Feats
Versatile Profession
Prerequisites: 5 Ranks in a Profession
Choose a Profession you have 5 or more ranks in. You may use your ranks in that profession in place of the ranks of one of the skills that profession has as an advance weapons training skill. (for example if you had profession scout of five ranks, you could use those ranks of Profession scout in place of perception or Acrobatics.) That skill becomes a class skill for you.

Combat/Style Feats
Protectors Style
Prerequisites: Combat Reflexes, Body Guard, Profession: (Guard) 5 ranks

Whenever you would use the Body Guard Feat, you improve targets AC an additional +1 per every 5 bab you possess (Minimum +1)

Protectors Intervention
Prerequisites: Protectors Style, Combat Reflexes, Body Guard, In Harms Way, Profession: (Guard) 8 ranks

After using In Harms Way, you may use it one additional time this turn as a free action. A creature still cannot benefit from this feet more than once per attack. In addition, you may spend an attack of opportunity to prevent enemies from interacting with unattended items in your threatened reach by making an attack roll vs their CMD when they attempt to interact with the object. (Pick up, open door, etc.) you gain a bonus on these attacks equal to 1/4th your ranks in profession Guard.

Protector's Denial
Prerequisites: Protectors Style, Protectors Intervention, Combat Reflexes, Body Guard, In Harms Way, Profession: (Guard) 11 ranks

Whenever you successfully use an attack of opportunity to damage an enemy that is moving in your threatened reach, that enemy is immediately stopped in the space they triggered the AoO. In addition while in this style, Attempts to use acrobatics through your threatened reach have their DC increased by half the number of ranks you have in Profession Guard.

More Combat\Style Feats

Pirate's Style
Prerequisites: Weapon Focus in Pirate group, Profession: (Pirate) 5 ranks

While wielding a pirate weapon, you do not provoke AoOs while preforming Steal, Dirty Trick or Disarm Maneuvers. If you already do not provoke AoOs, Some other cool thing

Special: If you have Weapon Training group (Pirate) you can apply this feat to all weapons within the group. This feat counts as Combat Expertise for the purpose of Improved Maneuver feats

Pirate's Swagger
Prerequisites: Pirate Style, Weapon Focus in a Pirate Weapon, Dazzling Performance Profession: (Guard) 8 ranks

Some cool stuff with Dazzling display after doing one of the three previous combat maneuvers.

Loremaster's Style
Prerequisites: Profession (Librarian) 5 Ranks

While in this style, whenever you score a critical hit against a monster you have identified, you gain a bonus to confirm the critical hit equal to 1/3th your ranks in Profession (Librarian)
Special: This counts as Critical focus for the purpose of feat prerequisites and does not stack with Critical Focus.

Loremaster's Evasion
Prerequisites: Profession (Librarian) 8 ranks, Loremaster's Style

While in Loremaster's Style, you gain a dodge bonus to your AC vs monsters you have identified equal to 1/4th your ranks in Profession (Librarian)

Loremaster's Strike
Prerequisites: Profession (Librarian) 11 ranks, Loremaster's Style, Loremaster's Evasion

Cool stuff with Librarian rolls and an attack

Add a synergy bonus to the advance skill proficiencies.

So Profession (Guard) gets +2 to listen and spot at 5 ranks. In fact, maybe it gets all of those associated proficiencies at 4 ranks even? At the very least at 1 rank (trained-only) or at 5 ranks, so that by 2nd level a character could pick up some odd training in weapons/armor if they wanted.

You could continue this trend as invested ranks in the profession increase.

And you could easily expand this sort of idea to other professions into non-combat areas of expertise.

Nah, suppose to be more of a play off things like the Weapon Master's Handbook. It might become part of my Skill Master's handbook, which would be for even more hardly skills. Like appraise

Well, this isn't written for 3.5, but Pathfinder. And I think that getting a bunch of Prof for just a few skill ranks would be pretty bad juju.

But I am trying to make sure that you've got two things with the feats that will be coming along and thats getting a bonus for having a lot of ranks in something, and a bonus for having a large bonus in something. like the two final feats in the Protector style get more powerful the more ranks in Prof: Guard you have.

I will also be trying to expand past just combat situations for things as well.

Ah yes, Lincoln's most grand and noble class.. The Mighty Noble Lumberjack.

Could use axes mostly.. Possibly trimmed down a bit. Maybe the lumber jack stuff increase your ability to do damage to wood
