Those of you who play this edition more frequently than I do may already be aware of this, but it seems 5e now has some (presumably open) content that was added to the d20srd site:

http://5e.d20srd.org/

At a cursory glance, it seems it has more info than the Basic Rules PDF, but not as much as the PHB. (For example, it has the monk class, but only the "Open Hand" monastic tradition, unless I'm missing the others somewhere else.) Is there any rationale for what made it here and what didn't? Any announcements from Wizards about this?

This is the content from the 5e SRD that WotC put out a while back, so there is one archetype from each class, one example feat, one example background, etc. You can find similar versions of it in various other places (I happen to like 5thsrd.org (http://5thsrd.org), but there are others).

Check out the FAQ section from that page, it explains the rationale behind what is and what is not included in the 5e SRD (and therefore that site).
