I noticed something while looking through an issue of Dragon magazine, and I was curious what others thought on the subject. In issue #313 of Dragon, pg 66 includes the Mortif/Desthtouched, a race similar to the Planetouched, but with distant undead ancestors rather than outsider ancestors. While the racial adjustment does not list a creature type, the example Mortif Warrior stat block lists its type as Outsider (Native). Seeing as it has a LA of +1, does that mean that one could create a "Lesser Deathtouched" as per the rules given on Player's Guide to Faerun pg 191, replacing their type with Humanoid (Planetouched), or a rough equivalent? Not asking for a game, just curious what more experienced players and DMs thinks.

If you did so, it would probably be the some of the highest stat mods in a 0 LA race. -2 con, +2 wis, +4 cha. Plus darkvision, 5 resist to 2 elements, an SLA based on character level, and bonuses to skills that actually get used. It's not well balanced with a "lesser" variant.
