Statistics for "Riding Gecko" aka "Giant Giant Gecko" aka "Large Gecko"

I have a problem deciphering the "Giant template"

the riding gecko in the "animals & animal Gear" (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/goods-and-services/animals-animal-gear#TOC-Gecko-Riding) chapter is described as a giant gecko (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/animals/lizard/lizard-giant-gecko) (medium sized) with the giant template (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/simple-template-giant-cr-1) so that it becomes large.

my problem is that in the table it says +8 Str, -2 Dex, +8 con and +2 natural armor
while in "Rebuild Rules" it says +4 Str, -2 Dex, +4 con and +3 natural armor

with one do I have to use? both? neither? What are the statistics of the riding gecko?

Ignore the table, it isn't an actual rule it was just put there by someone at PFSRD.

The actual rule (which can be seen here (http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/bestiary/monsterAdvancement.html)), have it as "Rebuild Rules: Size increase by one category; AC increase natural armor by +3; Attacks increase dice rolled by 1 step; Ability Scores +4 size bonus to Str and Con, –2 Dex." So it would end up with 17 Str, 13 Dex, and 16 Con.
