Inside is a room, 80' long by 20' wide, with a row of pillars down the middle. The longer walls each have two passages leading off, while there is a door on the far (short) wall.

The floor is an illusion-there's an outer perimeter of solid flooring, about 5' wide, but the inner square is non-existent.

Carlo peered into the entrance of the cultist lair, squinting to make out details from the dim light available. In response to Angband's question, he muttered "I prefer the ones closest to the exit, myself."

Then, by the firelight from the mystic's hand, he noticed something quite peculiar. In a slightly louder voice, he said "Wait. The shadows the pillars are casting on the floor don't look right to me. I think the whole floor might be an illusion, save maybe a few feet around the edges of the room."

"An illusion?" Kolbrim looks at the floor suspiciously. Maybe this cult was a bit more sophisticated than he'd anticipated.

He glances about the area before the door for any rocks or pebbles, so he can throw one onto the evidently illusory floor.

For a second, Carlo hesitated, unsure of what to do without any weapons, and uncertain if he should use any of his god's precious magic yet. Then, taking in the situation, he decided to see if he could lure at least one of the cultists into Kolbrim's ambush.

"Hold them off! One spell, and they're finished!" Carlo yelled towards Drake and Dymian, then retreated to a position in the 80'x20' room that the cultists would have to pass by the door Kolbrim was hiding behind to reach. Next, he began intoning the most ominous, magical sounding gobbledygook he could muster in a loud voice, hoping that at least one of the cultists would come attack the poor, unarmed, unarmored caster.

"I am a cleric of the god Risus," Carlo said, and displayed his holy amulet as proof. The amulet had an image of a plague mask with a goofy, teeth filled grin on it. Some people, Carlos had learned, considered the symbol to be a little creepy, but maybe that would help him build rapport with the cultist- they liked creepy things, right?

Carlo sighed. If only certain members of his own church had that much devotion...

Although the cleric didn't really feel like trying to grapple the cultist's scimitar away from him, he still felt as if he should do something, so he grabbed one of the scimitars dropped by the other cultists and started cutting one of the corpses' uniforms up into bandages on the off chance he might be able to save the guy after he spilled his own guts.

The Walrus

Given the materials he had to work with, Carlo thought he did a pretty decent patch-up job on the cultist. While he was working, he mulled over the mystic's question.

"Mmm. My religion tells me to save all those in need of healing, but it's a bit hazy on what to do with people after you've saved them. For the time being, I say we see if we can find a closet somewhere to lock him in, and we can press him for information when he wakes up. Assuming he doesn't choose to just pull off the bandages and die at that time, of course."

Finishing his work, the cleric stood up, still holding onto the scimitar he had cut the bandages with. "Judging by the large sacks these four gents were carrying, it seems likely that that locked room is a storeroom of sorts. We can find a place to hide the wounded one in there, and as for the three dead ones, let's shove them through the illusion floor. If anyone comes looking for these guys, it'll seem a lot creepier if it looks like they've simply vanished."

After another moment's thought, Carlo bent over and picked up a second scimitar.

"You really can't have too many weapons in a situation like this," he muttered.
