Or Mega Man X. Or Z, I suppose. Or ZX. Or any other Mega Men.

How does one build?

Suggested by Avatar Vecna:

Gestalted Illithid/Illithid Savant//Warlock, and eat a Renegade Mastermaker.

Clarifying that Illithid Savant was suggested due to being told Mega Man had the ability to eat other people and gain their power, or something. Original suggestion (which wasn't by me anyway) was also Warforged Warlock, as it happens.

Warforged Warlock is the way to go for 3.5; there are probably better options in PF.

If you're gestalting, Spellthief or Hellbreaker on the other side. Illithid Savant doesn't work because you have to be an illithid, which Mega Man is clearly not.

Illithid under the effects of Alter Self into, say, an elan? I admit the hair color doesn't check out, but the eye color does. And well, it's not like D&D lacks hair dye.

Elan != megaman... though I'm pretty sure elan would love to pretend...

I bookmarked a Mega Man X build a while ago, so I'll repost here. http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=16246615&postcount=28

As for stealing abilities and weapons, I'd use the Artificer ability to replicate spells into new wands for the Wand Chamber once you see a foe use a spell you like. Cause Mega Man's done things like Wall of Flame, Summoning a Swarm of Bees, or "stopping" time. For the most part, easily replicated via spells in wands or other charge-based items.

Is this a jest? Are you jesting? It's kind of hard to tell.

If not, allow me to clear up the confusion. I was, in fact, not referring to Elan (http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/oots/images/1/1f/Elan_New.png/revision/latest?cb=20150420021309) (the lovable blonde bard) but elans (http://eberronunlimited.wikidot.com/local--files/elan/daath.jpg) (the psionic posthumans that inevitably have blue eyes and red hair).

lol yes, it was a joke. I am familiar with elans.

I'd use Sha'ir to replicate the ability stealing. So Warlock/Sha'ir/ET/ED (turnless variant.)

I built a Stealth Megaman X through our last campaign as a 20 level Warforged Rogue who used ray spell wands as his primary means of attack. Boosting UMD eventually allowed him to take 10 on the check, and since Ray spells qualify for Sneak attack he was throwing fistfulls of d6es in damage. The Orb spells were the staples, and he branched out with others as they came available. Finding a way to gain dual wand abilities very much helps against target's that normally are immune to precision damage, but that was a DM conversation for me.

This was only possible, of course, with magic item shops being readily available, and is definitely nowhere near optimized, but it fits the character the best in my opinion.

As a side note: there's no reason why elans have to be gingers. That's just the current trend if you follow the default fluff for them. You can only become an elan by being accepted by the existing elans, and at the moment they're obsessed with redheads.

If you are going to use Spheres of Power, I would recommend the blaster (http://spheresofpower.wikidot.com/blaster)armorist (http://spheresofpower.wikidot.com/armorist), choosing blast types and other talents matching foes you have defeated.

Akashic mysteries works too. The marksman (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/psionics-unleashed/classes/marksman)has the adaptive gunner archetype that is all about the arm cannon, though a vizier (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/variant-magic-rules/akashic-magic/veilweaving-classes/the-vizier)can use the hand cannon veil as well as swap veils a few times a day to mimic ability switching and has a fair veil list.

Our warforged in our campaign is kinda designed off of Mega man, albeit not really in a build sense. He's a warforged crusader, who will unlock new abilities when he finds and defeats other warforged in the setting, granting him abilities like dash boots (giving him extra distance when charging), retractable spiky armor, so he can deal damage to anyone grappling him and by just charging into enemies and we're looking at some other options for what to make the arm cannon, looking at the ability to use searing light and being able to charge it for extra damage or maybe using a repeating crossbow built into his arm.

All of these will also be used by the warforged who we will be fighting so it will make the encounters interesting to fight as well.
