Lycanthrope Shapechange Ability

Lycanthropes all have Shapechange Ability. This is from the Werebear:

"The were bear can use its action to polymorph into a Large bear-humanoid hybrid or into a Large bear, or back
into its true form, which is humanoid. Its statistics, other than its size amd AC, are the same in each form . Any equipment it. is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies."

Here's my question: it says that the werebear *polymorphs* into the alternate forms, does this mean that its transformation works like the polymorph spell? As in, would the form it polymorphs into have a separate hp pool that is effectively depleted instead of its own?

No it does not work like that, the pool of health is the same for all forms, it would specify if it worked in this way, like it does for wild shape
